Anyone got a call yet?

hoover 06-03-2011 03:13 PM

not even an email

PurpleCRJ 06-03-2011 06:13 PM

Email was sent out today for June 9th, 10th interview.

atr42flyer 06-03-2011 06:56 PM

nice congrats!

IADBLRJ41 06-09-2011 05:06 PM

Are they only interviewing on those dates?

AlohaFlyer 06-09-2011 09:14 PM

How did the interviews go?

PurpleCRJ 06-15-2011 10:54 AM

They interviewed some people on the 7-10th turns out. They said they would probably be in touch in two weeks (June 24th? But who's counting)

PurpleCRJ 06-15-2011 10:57 AM

The gouge from the link on APC is pretty much spot on. Also, I'm guessing they are interviewing more this week. Anyone confirm that?

SparKen 06-16-2011 09:41 PM

Today
"Thank you for your interest...regret to inform you that you haven't been selected..."

captd2000 06-16-2011 11:34 PM

Received the same " We regret to inform you" at least they sent a reply. More than all of them.

Did you guys also receive the "please disregard our regrets" email?

<<Please disregard this message as it was sent in error and we sincerely apologize!>>

I also got the email, only one....? :(

Coto Pilot 06-17-2011 06:29 AM

I got the regrets e-mail last night. 12,000 hours with 1,200 on the 767 and over a hundred trips between the islands and the mainland.

P-3Bubba 06-17-2011 08:57 AM

Got Oops sorry we sent you the "hit the road" email after I got the "hit the road" email. Everyone else get the same?

I received the same emails last night. Was bummed at first, but then thought it was nice that they at least sent a reply even though it was not the one you want to get. When I received the Oops email, I was then glad that there's still a chance (be it ever so slim) at getting a call.

puertorriqueno 06-17-2011 06:12 PM

I got the Opps! Email as well... Interviewed about 7 months ago with no word at all! Nice to hear something...

captd2000 06-17-2011 08:41 PM

Thanks, I'll apply with them

What makes you say that? There are plenty of Haole pilots that work for Hawaiian now.

I would even say that it is even more of a term of endearment in my experience.

You can read more about the word Haole here if you wish:

But my main comment was that I do not believe that Hawaiian uses anyone's race as a means to determine their chances for employment as a pilot.

Amen Bro. Could not have said it better myself.

Sorry to hear that nothing has changed in 10 years. HAL will keep you on the ropes for a long time. If your luck to be in a pool, then stand by to stand by. My good friend interview, passed all the testing and never even heard a word for 1 year. After the year went by, HAL called him in for a 2nd interview and he passes again. They just didn't ask him of his updated flying time, they made him do the entire process over head to toe. Unbelievable, then got another interview 8 months later. He was going, then at the last minute changed his mind. He said no company is worth the time and money he spend and to get treated like that. So now he's at Atlas. Not to distract you but very patient.

While on vacation in Hawaii recently, I met a guy who told me he's a pilot at Hawaiian and that he could connect me to his relative who works in HR. Awesome, but then he mentioned something that struck me as odd.. said he flies on two different planes. The 717 and the airbus I think. I could be wrong but I've never heard of an airline that allows you to fly on two different planes at the same time. At my regional you dequal on your current aircraft the day you start training for a different plane. The closest thing I know of is dual qual for crj 200/700 or common type like 757/767. I would love to take advantage of his offer but honestly I'm curious if he is legit. Seemed like a cool guy, but people do lie about all kinds of weird stuff. Why, I have no idea. Can Hawaiian pilots elaborate if this indeed is the practice there?

That sounds strange.

AlohaFlyer 06-22-2011 08:21 AM

Its been dead for a few days... anyone hear anything recently?

Rama 06-22-2011 09:31 AM

You only fly one type at Hal.

HA717 06-24-2011 09:49 AM

Someone lied to you. You can bid for another airplane but never two at the same time. I'd be concerned of safety issues.

I heard a rumor today that the Phase II testing at HA is getting re-evaluated because the psychologist that they hire to administer the MMPI Psych Test and the Wunderlic Exam is not licensed to do so, and is getting sued by HAL ALPA and at least one interviewee. Apparently the psychologist got a lot of business from HA due to his personal friendship with the HR director.

Anyone else heard anything about this?

LOL!!! Well, this could get out of hand. If this person IS found guilty, then EVERYONE hired or denied could/should be re-interviewed...
(playing devil's advocate here).

Neosporin 07-14-2011 08:56 PM

what's the latest? any interviews?

Rama 07-16-2011 11:28 AM

Know of 1 guy interviewing next week, must be more also.

It would be nice to get that dude out of the loop.

AlohaFlyer 09-07-2011 09:07 AM

Anyone hear whether or not the initial interviewing is still going on? I heard that they selected the phase III folks for September this past weekend.

flynow 09-08-2011 07:31 AM

AlohaFlyer,

Are you by any chance ex-AQ?

bruddahgoose 09-08-2011 11:01 AM

Almost... I was supposed to be in AQ's May 3, 2008 class. But did not go due to company and market turmoil... glad I didn't.

Has anyone else received a "conditional offer for employment" while updating their resume online? The offer was contingent upon submitting to a background check, and asked for additional personal info pertinent to the check.

Axis,
I received the same thing a few months ago when updating. It seemed kind of odd, and I did not receive any emails or calls afterward. Got an email saying thanks but no thanks, then an email saying the previous email was sent out in error and you are still a candidate, then a conditional offer which really wasn't. I think they definitely have room for improvement WRT their online application process.

Axis 09-28-2011 02:02 AM

Thanks for the info Sunny!

NimbusSurfer 10-01-2011 02:36 PM

Has anyone that interviewed at HAL over the past few months received an offer for employment? If so, was it via email or phone call? They briefed us that it can take awhile...I interviewed in mid-September. Thanks!
