Just emailed for 2 Nov interview. Any recent gouge?
anyone have insight to what the trips are like on the bus for a junior line holder? 4-5 days or are they longer or shorter?
Schedules will always be changing depending on destinations, routes, number of aircraft in the fleet, and economic cycles, ....so it's hard to say. As the schedules mature, more senior guys will bid over from other fleets, and with pref bidding, the junior guys will fly the junior trips. Most trips are 2 or 3 days, some are back to back. And no guarantee you'll be on the bus....there's as much chance of the 76, and some chance of the 717. In general the 71 goes fairly senior for those who live on the island and want to be home every night, though there are openings for new hires from time to time. If you're lucky enough to get an interview or an offer, base your decision on criteria such as whether you like the company, whether the island life / culture is for you, and whether it'd be a good fit for the long term. How you fare in the short term will depend on many variables, few of which you can control. Be happy, and good luck!

Any mainland/non-HI ties receiving interviews?
Thanks |

I just took the time to read through this thread and I had a few questions:
1) Any guesses as to when the application window may next be open? 2) Is it fair to say that the phases happen one at a time? i.e. phase 1, then if successful, then a separate trip for phase 2 and then if a successful a separate trip for phase 3? 3) I was able to find info regarding phase 1 and phase 2. Would someone please share any info regarding phase 3? What type of testing is it? Is it IQ, personality, psychometric, or anything else? Thanks much |

Yes, received the email for a Nov. 2nd interview. Non HI resident, no internal recommendations or any ties.

Does anyone know if Hawaiian is still accepting applications? The link to the application is still on their APC Profile. Thanks
Has anyone that interviewed with Hawaiian this fall/winter received a call? I interviewed in September and haven't heard a peep. Just curious if they have invited anyone back for Phase 3, etc. Thanks in advance!

Any news on when the window will open again?
Hey, can I get a Hawaiian KC135 ANG guy to PM me? Thanks!
Hiring
Any word on when the window will open again?
That's what I want to know too.
I heard it opened up about 1 to 1 1/2 months ago. It did not bring up any real fanfare on the forums, but I talked to 2-3 people that said they applied.
I was offered Phase 3 several times but had to turn down. Unfortunately it did not sound like there were anymore vacancies till maybe late summer or fall. This is just my assumption based on info I was given. Good Luck! |
What is "Phase 3"?
Conditional job offer. You are no longer dealing with HR but the training dept. Background checks and some other stuff. I guess more laid back than the phase 1 and 2.
I hope to still be able to continue with it when things are a bit easier on home side of things. sounds like a great place to work, people were super nice!!! |
phase 3 is all about the psych test. it's not a gimme. most people have a follow-up phone interview, some need to come back in for a face-to-face with the therapist, and some fail outright. or in my case, i got "invalid" and told to come back to retake the psych test (MMPI - like 1000 questions), but i got another job in the meantime and couldn't make the retake because training there had started. some people pass without further questions too.

Latest rumor is hiring at the end of summer, previously we had heard no more hiring until next year.
How many days off can you expect on reserve and holding a line? Do the trips start late and end early so you can surf everyday?
12 days off reserve/13 bid line. Most widebody trips check in around noon.

I just got an email today saying "thanks for applying but we've currently filled all positions". Kind of odd because the last time I applied was a year ago. I also got the same"no thanks" email a little over a year ago..which was 1 year from when I applied for he first time. I almost got too excited when I saw my inbox.
I got the same email. Keep the faith!

I think I see it differently, yes it says all positions are filled, but it suggests re-apply and the process will be short since they already have my information. not 'no thanks", is anyone else's similar?
I received mine also. I forgot I applied there because i had no hope of them calling me.
Got the same thing

Still DITTO. |
Same. Shocker!
here I am thinking I'm different getting that email. After a few hours of updatiing my profile. I come on here and find I'm not alone... kind of depressing.:(
you guys are not alone. ive been here for 4 years and i got it too. good job hr.
So I'm not special?
Hawaiian is trying to do the right thing and improve their hiring processes. They're attempting to be responsive to the feedback from applicants that they've been left in limbo after applying or participating in various phases of the interview. The email feedback is pretty direct, but at least a guy knows where he/she stands. Hawaiian is not a good fit for everyone, but is an excellent career for some. (see previous threads)
If you understand the island / culture / cost of living / etc., and are otherwise qualified, watch for the application window to open and reapply. Best of luck to all. |
The window will be open May26th-June 10th, the word just came out.
