If your single sitting reserve in san Juan is awesome. Plus the majority of your overnights are on the beach in carribean destinations.

They do a full physical, EKG, Blood work and the main reason for the medical they take care of the intial drug tests. Plus I believe now they do the finger printing as well but not sure about that.

I'm planning on applying very soon. I'm just looking for ways to get about 40 more multi hours, without paying too much. Sounds like they're pretty strict on that 100 multi as well. Don't know if being an intern there or going to UND helps that.

I think it's geared more towards finding out any prior health issues for their HMO and insurance.
Blood work checks for cholesterol, anemia, some types of cancer, Hepatitis, etc. etc. All the stuff that may make you a risk factor down the road.

I guess that makes sense. Although I didn't think an employer could deny you employment because you have cancer, hepititis, hiv, etc. Isn't that discrimination?

I don't think they can, but usually an HMO doesn't cover "pre-existing conditions". Also, I think their corporate insurance rates are based on the pilot's being healthy to a certain extent.

that said, I got a letter from them saying that my hearing is deficient "though within FAA guidelines" and I should see a doctor (6 deployments with the Navy will KILL your hearing, and I wear double protection all the time!) to see if any follow up is required, but "the results of this evaluation will not affect your job offer."

So, interpret that as you will....
