Hageland is hiring.
I thought this deserved its own thread:
Hageland Aviation (dba Ravn Connect) is hiring. Min requirement is a current medical and CSEL. We operate C207s, C208s, Navajos, and B1900s. Less than 1,500 hours and you will be a Van SIC but moving up to B1900 SIC is fairly quick. More than 1,500 and they will put you in a 207. I'm not going to lie, Van FO pay sucks at $66/day. My new hire class was in March and I will be attending initial class for the 1900 later this month, lots of movement right now. Also, if you want to go 121 once you hit ATP mins you can hop over to the Corvus (dba Ravn Alaska) side, which has great pay for a regional. If you have questions I will try and answer here in case anyone else has similar questions. Forgot to add that the class will be in November. |
How much y'all's B1900 captains makin'?

I faxed in my resume and cover letter about a week ago. Would it be a good idea to send in a paper copy as well?

What hurts even less is if you really want a job in AK is you go there and knock on their door.

Anyone heard anything?
|
I think the class starts November 2nd. No idea why the lack of communication. I tried sending in a resume to the CP for a guy but never heard anything back. We tend to do everything last minute, so don't give up hope yet.

I wouldn't mind working for era/frontier/RAVN/Hageland but they don't direct hire to the Caravan and I don't care to fly a 207 full-time again.

From what I hear most guys are spending less than a year in a sled before upgrading to a Van.

Yeah but....you'd think they make an exception for a guy with 2,000 hours of sled time who is .297 current in a Caravan at another company.

Does anyone know how many FOs they are looking to hire for the November class? I sent in my paper app earlier in the month but haven't heard anything so I guess I'll be in the pile for next one.
Anyone know of anything else I should do in the meantime? I'd love to get on with them. |

No clue. We had a big FO class a couple months ago. If your gunning for a Van FO spot all you need is com inst. I would suggest cmel so you can upgrade to the B1900, the pay is much better.

I have my CMEL and 50 multi. Plus I have my CFI, not sure if that makes a difference though.

Any idea of upgrade time on the Dash 8, or are the Capt's all lifers?

Do you know how long it would take to upgrade to the B1900 SIC and how much better the pay is? I currently have a CMEL with an instrument rating and will graduate college this summer with CFI and CFII. I will be low time, estimating 250 TT with 26.9 multi.

On average, how many hours per month can I expect to fly with them?

Unless things have changed hagland works a 15 on 15 off schedule in the bush. Frontier/artic circle 20 days on 10 days off in a row. And era aviation was a typical 121 operating schedule (whenever they need you) not alot of days off in a row. I know nothing on raven they have changed there name so many times. I'm assuming raven is now era aviation in anchorage. All on all I enjoyed my time there.

Hageland does business as Ravn Connect, Corvus (the artist formerly known as Era) does business as Ravn Alaska, and Frontier (which still has a Sherpa) also does business as Ravn Connect. Hageland and Frontier are 135 and Corvus is 121. All three operating certificates are under the Ravn Airgroup umbrella. Clear as mud right?

When I left in 2011 the only planes on frontiers certificate was the Sherpa. Did they add more to frontiers fleet? And yeah its hard to follow. There was a much more simpler time when everyone was separate making money on there own.. Except for era aviation. I don't think they ever made money before the merger

Why would they when there have been guys doing their time at the company? If there ever is a true pilot shortage they might hire direct into a Van.

Hageland is getting two brand new Caravans and two B1900 C models. Ought to be doing more hiring to fill seats.
|
How does one apply directly with Hageland? I can only find Ravn hiring info.
