I was surprised that GJ has been silent and GH Corner was not updated with info about the recalls. He generally likes to spread the good news. It seems that they want to keep them secret. There is going to be an announcement on benifits tomorrow. Probably not a good one.

Q- thanks for posting these links.

Can anyone tell me what happens if I get a recall letter, but am currently under contract with another airline? Can I refuse the recall and keep my seniority number until my current contract is up, then come back?

Thought I heard something about that...wasn't sure though.

Yes, you can bypass recall as long as there is someone junior to you still on furlough. If you get a recall letter you have 10 days to respond, if you don't respond twice you could be terminated.

You are correct. Basically if you are still under contract and you are the last pilot on furlough, they will place you on a leave of absence I believe. And when your contract is up, you have to either come back or resign.

Right on, thats what I was hoping. I'm pretty much at the very bottom (last new hire class), so there wouldn't be anyone junior to me still on furlough if I bypassed. But its nice to have the option to come back, after my current contract.
Thanks for the info.

My source is a posting on the union website. It seems with the 68 recall letters that were sent out 26 are coming back. Mostly junior people on the recall list. Seattle gets 21 of them and Portland gets 5 and there is a wait list to get Portland. There will be 3 upgrades (captain requals) also on the 26th of Oct.
Benifits did not get changed for pilots yet but for normal company employees. 401K to 6%, Family passes are going away and deductables went up about 10%.
Also rumor has is that the TA will be out on the 18th with union presentations (selling it) the whole following week. Seems that most people have their mind made up on it even without seeing it.

Update: A class of 14 more recalls/ 4 upgrades (requals) on Nov 30. To make the number of recalls 40 for the Oct/Nov class but only 7 upgrades. The CP said we should have everyone back and hiring in the spring along with continued upgrades. Rumor is for an announcement tomorrow with the 3rd Q results. People are leaving left and right for Compass, Virgin, Delta, ect....
The TA should be released tomorrow. Will be interesting to see what 5 years of negotiations and NMB come out with. Anyone want to see bullet points?

26 took the recall for the October class.
That class will be filled by 18, while the remaining 8 will be on paid leave until the November class.
November class will have those 8 + an additional 14 (expected / wanted) recalls.
Oct and Nov class will have a total of 7 upgrades.
Over the last 2 weeks or so: 9-10 people quit. (interestingly, some on the spot, while others gave notice!)
Welcome back...
