Pure conjecture and speculation...but someone said maybe rebranded earlier in thread. How bout this thought? Alaska bought by Delta, Horizon whipsawed by DAL as they do so well to make them cost competitive to other DCI carriers. Only reason I think this possible long term is that after the USAir and American merger DAL is the smallest of the large legacies. Delta management will not like that and want to stay competitive so they'll have their chomps out at the two smaller legacies (Alaska and Hawaiian). Compelling thought that I hope does not happen. Regionals hate life under the Delta banner.

Out of 16, 12 might finish. This barely covers the people leaving for Alaska. It's still career suicide.

Is Alaska honoring the 30% they are suppose to take from Horizon?

Why only 12 finish? Is the training difficult or?

I have been saying the exact same thing for a while now.

My question, too. Also, I thought Horizon was a good place to be, seems like folks are knocking it. ???

Horizon is a great airline for regional airline standards. Good place to be

The thing about the commuters is that people go there to get PIC time and move on. It doesn't matter if salaries, benefits and QOL are good, if there is not quick upgrade, pilots are going to bash it. As someone here put it "career suicide"

take a look, most of the pilots doing the bashing are F/Os

That's 30% of the interviewees, not hires. At least two QX check airmen busted their interviews.

It is career suicide if you're looking for TPIC time. 12 year upgrades. However if you're looking at it like a career destination, it's probably better than most Regionals.

Hi,

Can you say what makes Horizon better than other regionals? Say place like Skywest?

Is it pay? Because I don't see Skywest being too far off.

Thanks
