Horizon hiring/interviews
There was a place called the ranch that was a QX crash pad, there's usually a couple of fliers in the crew room down there advertising for roommates too. If you get to the end of training and MFR is your lot, send me a PM I'll put you in touch with a couple of the FOs down there.

Can anyone tell me approximately how long from the time you put your application in until IOE? I would like to get a rough timeframe on how far out interviews are and (assuming I pass) how long until you can get a class date? My family is moving to Spokane and I want to be around for the move.

I did sit for about two weeks between the end of sims and starting IOE, but since Horizon has hired more check airmen since then, the gap between sims and IOE is probably shorter now.

I'm sick of people painting QX's potential flying of jets (again) for the AAG (It was Alaska Air Group LONG before AMR took a dump and became 'AAG') with the same brush as non-union, low-bidder airplane crashers, like Skywest.
QX is part of the AAG, and if Alaska pilots are smart, they'll protest the HELL out of AS branded flying being flown by non-airgroup entities. But not by QX. QX has an incredible record of performance and safety in some of the toughest conditions in the country. Why? Because they have excellent training and flt. ops technical personnel, and a very experienced pilot group (middle management is mainly tools, like most places). They will crush anything thrown at them, and they'll do it for a decent wage (FO pay lags, and it ****es me off, but upgrades are coming down, finally, at least).
QX has never been the typical model of a 'regional,' though Airgroup management has tried to send them down that road now that they are a CPA-only carrier. At least the $, and the profit sharing, stay in the Airgroup if QX flies it. If AAG management wants that niche filled, they'll fill it; QX would be the only choice AS pilots shouldn't protest, but rather welcome.
