This happened a few times last year over the summer, I think they pull it down and put it back up after a few days to keep it at the top of the list. I highly doubt the stack is so tall they've stopped taking apps. Keep checking

It was announced yesterday that all of the RJ-700's that SKW flies for Alaska will be replaced with new E-jets.

And the beat goes on. Prospective new-hires and applicants... My advice to you is to look very carefully at all possible options. Be objective, and make an informed decision.

Air group has a plan to replace the crjs for skywest well before any plan to replace 16 of the q400s for Horizon. This is a terrible sign especially for someone jr.

Fitting that the Pilot Job posting came down a few days ago....

I'm trying to figure out how someone could be so oblivious that they thought posting that press release to OYH would go over well.

Did someone think that QX employees had drank enough "I am Alaska" kool-aid that we'd view the press release as anything but a slap in the face?

"Let's once again remind Horizon that Alaska gave their jets to Skywest, then add insult to injury by crowing about all the shiny jets and Alaska flying Skywest is going to be getting!"

"What could possibly go wrong?"

Guys, so the news of SKW picking up E-175s is rather old. As an example, PDX-AUS route was specifically designed for that type. Correct? PDX can't supply enough traffic as SEA can for AUS, thus no 737. Alaska is not expecting SKW to pick up local NW routes for many reasons, or am I wrong? Is the main issue, at this point, the lack of equipment, thus the growth, for QX? The whole Boise thing is just a cover up? QX class starts in September, I love to the company and people, and etc, etc. Is it really looking that bad now?

We've heard the rationale more times than we'd like to count.

SKW is doing either SEA-BOI or BOI-PDX. I forget which. I'd call that about as "local NW" as it gets, though.

Painful lesson.....Just because your airline is owned by a holding company that also has a mainline operation does not mean squat.....You guys work for Horizon Air Industries.....You only have one CPA and that is with Alaska Airlines inc......Your paint is not on the side of your airplane.....The AAG is holding company that sells stock and they have played you guys hard....

It's a mix of a lack of growth and the fact we're looking at a very real possibility of parking 1/3 of our fleet within the next three years as leases begin to expire on older airplanes.

When you add in Skywest taking flying directly from Horizon (they're taking a BOI-PDX flight, all the LAS flights, and some of the SEA-YEG flights), getting new routes while we seem to just lose flying, and the fact that Tilden has said QX needs to match SKW's pay scale, there's not a lot of reasons to be optimistic here.
