On average since 2012 we’ve added 200 a year to the list.
I was an 08’ hire and I’ve moved fwd almost exactly 200. From 2000-1800.
We have 3500ish now.
It’s not lightning fast, but certainly not nothing. We are still taking deliveries of 1 plane every 6-8 weeks. Slow, but still growth.

Your post is not sufficiently negative.

Until Chuck Schumer is out of office, we will always be a stand alone company called Jetblue. He’ll never let us get taken over by UAL. If can lobby for ****ty flights to Syracuse with no interference, then we will always be here for better or worse as JetBlue! 😵

This seems like a more significant slow down than the normal summer lull. Which agrees with the reduced growth rate advertised by the company earlier this year. Also, I don't recall the exact dates but we had exceeded 3500 pilots 4-6 months ago. Then dropped below 3500. Now barely above again so no I wouldn't call this exactly the same as other summer lulls.

We were expanding ASM, so they did a pilot projection which would have called for more aircraft and pilots. When they realized the ASM increase would be from switching to 321's from 320s, they realized they didn't need as many more pilots so they corrected with the decrease in hiring numbers. Then summer hit with 4-6 hour EDCTs along with our poor utilization of reserve pilots (thanks to the only good thing about our reserve rules) and got hosed over the summer. They have since ratcheted up hiring numbers for the fall to help mitigate.

You saw the change on the list from the July update. They only do it twice a year. It’s acurate in July and January. After that guys come guys go.
We’re still adding to the list. So far this year we’ve added over 100. I’d wager a case of your favorite beer we take at least 75-100 more before December is over.

Some of the attitudes I see on our forum really reflect what I've seen in some of my regional comrades recently.
There seems to be this be assumption that because DAL, UAL, and AA are hiring in large numbers, the job is already yours. I know guys with applications ONLY in AA, ONLY DAL, or ONLY UAL. That's their first choice and assume they'll get that call any day now and the job is theirs to have when they do. Then they go into that interview, assuming they get one, and some get that TBNT and are crushed with no backup plan. Or it's been years and they keep on chugging along at their sh*t regional because they're "too good for JetBlue or SWA or Spirit."
Those of us here at JetBlue, yeah career prospects are better this very moment at DAL, UAL, and AA. Put that app in. In the meantime, we're trying to improve what we have here at B6, because you may never get that call for DAL. Or you might, then get a TBNT. What then? Be miserable at B6 for the remainder of your career and inject that cancer into the rest of the pilot group or make the best of what we have?

I took DL bus up on my commute last week. 4 of us up front and I was amazed at how ****ed they all were. I heard more than once..."Why would anyone come here". I think no matter where you go you will have problems. I'm not saying at all ours are less (I think more way more in areas) but...the gold bar thought from above is pretty spot on and funny.
