Exactly. We (the pilots) have done our part to improve things, and now we wait for that process to finish. Negotiating is not fast. But honestly I’m really pleased with the pace we’ve seen. We haven’t been parked by the mediator. We are still meeting outside of mediation. These are all positive signs.

This will drag on as long as B6 can stall. I have no doubt about the NC presenting a great TA, but its not going to be soon- That is apparent.

Im here 4 years so I'd like to see a TA before I split.
When you live in base, B6 is an okay place.
Its never about money alone South- have you read some of the threads here?
I know youve just returned to the line, but give it 6 months. Do you live in base?

Really? My friend who used to be an ALPA negotiator is encouraged by the latest emails, suggesting that meeting outside of mediation shows that they want the language to be wrapped up so that when they do get agreement on the financial stuff, a TA is quick to come.
I really feel that if you have a negative outlook, any positive information is thrown out, and you only look for the negative. Self-inflicted.
I admit, I was disheartened by the fact that we went to mediation. But the last couple of emails were encouraging. Meeting outside of mediation means that they are still working together.

Life on the line, AWAY from your family is not negative, its reality on the line. Welcome back

I think you're a fair guy, but lets park this because I am not as rosy about B6 as you. It doesnt make either of us wrong, we're just 2 guys with different perspectives. I wish you continued happiness as Im sure you do for me.

If by “buried in the schoolhouse” you mean driving 4 hours each way every week and being away from my family more days than not each month, as if that’s terribly different than what you are doing, then fine. It is only very recently that we moved to Orlando. Every job at this company has its challenges man. Flying the line is not the only one with challenges. Different, yes, but that doesn’t mean it’s sunshine and roses all the time at any other position.

So if we get an industry standard contract you still think we won't get qualified guys? Honestly there really isn't a point to do this with you. Yeah few will come here the growth will slow even further which will make nobody apply here so we will probably furlough.....we are all doomed. Update those apps guys.
A new CBA will help, a LOT. IF it's good. But it still will not make us as attractive as the big 3 for the next 15 years until our retirements start (unless a lot more changes (more growth, widebody aircraft)).
But, there will always be some low qualified people and those that live in Boston or FLL.

Will a new contract here cause us to retire more pilots to match the seniority movement of the big three? Will a new CBA cause us to buy large fleets of A330s and 777s? Will a new CBA force us to open bases other than the East coast?

You're right. They could copy/paste Delta's contract and remove "Delta" and replace with "Jetblue" and the legacies would still be more attractive to many due to your above concerns.
Is what it is. Back in the early 2000s, JB was the only gig in town hiring. Now, everyone is. Depending on where you are on the JB seniority list and how old you are, will determine whether it makes sense to start over or not.

Were you under the illusion we were going to buy/lease widebody aircraft, or that there was going to be significant turnover in seniority based on retirements due to the advanced age of our pilot fleet?

I'm saying a new contract will help, but we fall short on many other valuable metrics that a CBA won't fix.
You still confused?
