I’m not SQ nor have any interest in it…..but if I was a commuter and just wanted to do my 3 day and go home, it might be a good deal. Plus it seems like the SQ stuff runs much smoother than the rest of the JetBlue operation, so the commute flight you have in mind is probably the flight you’ll be able to catch.

I wonder how long til they just offer up whatever base/equip a new hire wants. Something like when you pass Phase 1 you put in a request for base/equip you're willing to accept and then wait for a class date. If you just want class ASAP you can bid first available slot.

I don’t know why they don’t do that. I also don’t know why they continue to put east coast guys in LAX and make them wait until they are IOE complete to be able to put in for a base trade. At every other airline you seem to be able bid whatever base you want if there are vacancies. We shouldn’t have anyone forced to stay LAX when junior-to-them newhires are getting NY/BOS.
For real though, it makes no sense that that they don’t have a monthly vacancy bid to allow line and training pilots to swap bases each month for vacancies instead of one-for-one, and let the new hires get whatever is left. If one pilot wants LAX->BOS base trade, another BOS-JFK, and third JFK->LAX they won’t make the trade and it’s honestly ridiculous how easy it would be to allow.

Well historically all west coast pilots have been forced into east coast domiciles until recently so life’s not fair I guess 😂
