And does the photo have 15 empty chairs with name tags on them next to the new hires? The photo shows the class, not the no shows. Still doesn't prove how many were supposed to show up.

Cry us a river. We all endured much worse. And JB training pay is a very short duration. Pick up a couple premium trips to get you through the 1-2 months of training pay, and then move on with your career. Seniority is critical for the rest of your career. Sitting there at your "no real future long term" job longer because of the temporary pay cut is a morons game.

Be better.

Don't tell him to be better tell him to stay where he is. I prefer the happy regional lifers to stay at the regionals. We don't need or want them.

I don’t disagree with training pay being low, but with that logic, UPS would never find any pilots to go there.

The difference is that it's UPS and not B6.
I doubt that people are staying at the regionals just because of the initial pay cut. Today a pilot could afford to be more picky. They can afford to not got to the first major that offers them a class date and wait for thR UPS call. So yeah, we need to find a way to attract people through the door. Moving flying down to FL might have been one small step in that plan. I guess we'll see how that goes.

The point is, I’m more worried about RETAINING people than ATTRACTING them. JetBlue is part destination airline and part stepping stone depending on many personal factors. If it was truly a destination airline, like UPS, people wouldn’t have a problem taking the initial pay hit because they know it’s way better year 2 and on. With JetBlue, I think people don’t want to take the pay cut because they’ll take another pay cut (or extend the pay cut) when they leave JetBlue for a legacy. We need to get people to come here because they want to retire here instead of coming here for the type rating, resume builder, better situation if the economy tanks, etc.

I agree, Florida is a small step. Hopefully more bases and a great JCBA are much bigger steps in the right direction. Short story made long, I think we’re both on the same page here.

I heard Tampa is being considered as well. The more bases out of NY and LA the better. I’m hoping the growth will make the pairings improve! We will see!

So if I'm reading previous threads correctly, is there no chance of JFK basing at JetBlue for the remainder of the year?

That’s why people aren’t showing up to class at JetBlue. You can have great seniority AND good training pay at a legacy.
