Thanks all for the responses.
I had the ZED to have same priority as the family, for $35 why not.
The flight had looked good so didn’t bother with the JS listing and learned the hard way.
Funny though on the next flight was scolded by the agent for having two listings on one flight.
My head almost exploded after a 10hr red eye and missing one flight already.
The joys of non rev, but made it and thanks for the rides!

I’m guessing this was the issue on your first flight—in order to create a JS listing they need to cancel your ZED listing first afaik. Not sure why they didn’t offer you that solution at the gate but wo being there and looking at their manuals I have no idea what happened or if that’s protocol at 30 mins out. That’s not my area of expertise at all.
Also for those who care, I noticed the union email SWA JS is down completely for us right now argh

Just a quick clarification; you can still ride if seats are available in the back. It’s an IT issues between their gate computers and the ARINC server for CASS. Hopefully resolved soon.
