You know what would put an end to all of it. Forget senior people taking it all or fast people taking it all. 5 min window where everyone can bid for it and the one with the least credit in the month takes it. I think that’s fair for all but for the ones that want it all for themselves and may leave some crumbs for others if they’re feeling generous. Current system is ridiculous, going seniority like we have for VDA is the same thing. I think spirit has it were once you get one you go to the bottom of the list for the next one.

Asked and answered people. There’s no bots. Company and ALPA are good. 87% are at home with most looking to pick up trips

Did you really expect to hear anything different? Regardless of the usage of bots, we’re working with an extremely flawed system. Just because you guys have been doing this for the past 20 years doesn’t mean it’s right. Why do you and hyper boy keep defending it? Nobody should have to be walking around with 5 computers constantly hitting refresh. 10 minute hold times, trip is awarded to lowest credit person. Easy fix. everyone can make some extra money instead of a very few getting fat. With that said, it’s in the CBA and has to be negotiated, which means giving something up. So I’m sure it will never change. I’m well aware we have more important things to deal with.

Yet the usual suspects get most of the trips... So the 86.9% get nothing. Great system.

BD is this a deal breaker for 2.0? The reason I ask is because it does represent money in pilots pockets for sure. Just which ones and how? It is interesting to me. I just don't know the best way to make it fair......

I have gotten plenty of alerts but all I see is.....NO OPEN TIME when I get there.

This is very similar to how it is done at Delta, with some limitations on adds above ALV(average line value), bu this just makes more greenslip flying(200%), also follows the “if you were already awarded one and person below wasn’t that person gets it. It makes them staff or pay enormous double pay, win-win and more people win. My buddy there claims some dude credited over 400 hrs in a month. Good for him, but what are other guys crediting?

A point that hasn’t been mentioned, if pilots are having to stare at their computer screens 24/7 in the desperate attempt to pickup a trip, how are they going to be rested and fit to fly their schedule? Even before the current situation I can recall a flight with a guy that was all over FLICA. I think he spent 40 or the 45 minutes prior to pushback staring at FLICA, maybe took two minutes to review the flight. The current system encourages unsafe behavior.

I’d also love to see a Venn diagram of the guys who are the “luckiest/fastest” at picking up trips, and the guys who had the highest monthly credit in the 6 months leading up to our contract. When we weren’t suppose to be helping out the company. I’d bet the overlap would be about 90%.

I'll try and answer later, when I have more time.

Most of the airline is 50-80.... Yet 87% of JB pilots are at home TRYING to pick up extra time, according to the defender above. Great system.

I'm not a flica guy and finally signed up for alerts back late last year. I didn't have a schedule because I went through transition so I figured alerts would be a good way to build from a 0 hour line and maybe get some good stuff. Nope. Nothing but frustration. I had heard stories about flica bots and people just sitting on flica all day but I didn't fully beleive it until I saw it myself. At one point I put a specific requirement into alerts and let it bypass my do not disturb during the night. My phone went off just before 4am and I logged in, and the trip was already gone. Another time I experimented on my day off in my office. Kept Flica up on my 2nd monitor and watched open time (this is all pre covid). I'd get an alert but never see anything drop into open time, or sometimes I'd see a new trip in open time and by the time I clicked on it it was already taken.

I've since cancelled flica alerts and don't plan to return. It was more of a headache than anything else for me. If this COVID stuff blows over and we manage to keep our jobs then I'll go back to my old ways of basically fly what I'm awarded.
