I agree with this idea. I don’t think something will be done because the company doesn’t care as long as people pick up the trip. The other week I get an alert of a open trip, obviously some dude picked it up by the time I logged in. 2 mins later another alert that it was on the trade board. Guys like these really ruin it for the rest.

 

We could give these people their life back as well as leveling the playing field. Win win.

 

​​​​​​Nah I don’t think any changes should be made to the system based on whats happening right now. It’s frustrating as crap but i don’t think people are using bots anymore. Some might be getting help with the actual hawking, but whatever, there’s no such thing as 100% fair. In “normal” times the problem is getting rid of trips.

I’d probably be in favor of temporary credit caps. Not to punish the high credit people but really just to stretch out the CARES act money. As I understand it that money is for payroll only, so any leftovers could be used beyond September.

 

I personally would be in favor for a credit cap WITH a snap back ONLY for a furlough, since it is is the furlough mitigation and its in our CBA. We need something to trigger it's requirement and trigger its end.

Sorry, this isn't a sport and we aren't athletes, we're pilots. The system used to distribute open time should never require being "good" or "great". If that's what the system requires, it's a bad system and needs to be changed.

 

Any time money is at stake, (stock market) guys are gonna hustle and grind harder than some. It’s really not that difficult, ask the 50 or so that always “getting” the trips how they do it. If you weren’t a bunch a crybabies, they’d probably let you in on how they become faster and smarter. The system has been in place for almost 20 years, if you haven’t figured out how to beat them, it’s on you. Just like the few running VDA out of base and cleaning up. Some are willing to put in more time

 

Nope, not the correct perspective on this issue, unless you are one of the hustlers cleaning up at the expense of everyone else, which you seem to be. You say "whenever money is at stake, guys are gonna hustle and grind". That's true, but most other mature airlines don't have a pure millisecond race to distribute open time, where the system can be gamed.

Guys should be able to hustle (work overtime) to make extra, but the system for obtaining that overtime itself shouldn't be a millisecond competition that requires you to have skills comparable to Jordan or Gretzky, and requires special tricks or games that need to be kept secret from others. That's why other mature airlines don't use this system.

And if the basic system isn't going to be changed, then flica should be reprogrammed with some guardrails. A trip should populate open time, but NOT the "add" or "swap" until 5 mins AFTER an alert has gone out, and the trip should have a countdown timer next to it that shows when it will become available for "add" or "swap". That's the only way to simply make it about speed, and not games. And that still doesn't solve the bot or cartel problems, but yeah, yeah, no bots, riiiggght.
