I am lucky and grateful to be in Phase One. I love the product, future plans and vibe of the company, but I am trying to figure out just how bad life will be for the first 12-18 months as a person settled with family in Southern California. I know it is rare but possible to get the Bus out of LAX right away, which would be incredible (I'm cool with redeyes.) Getting the Bus out of JFK or Boston would be fine too, and I could hopefully find my way to LAX fairly quickly with the planned growth. I'm 42. I'm trying to sort through what the timeline on the ERJ would look like?
How long is new hire training?
12 month seat lock starts on arrival, after training, or after IOE?
How long is transition training on the Bus?
Commuting to reserve is never ideal, but I know there are lots of LAX-JFK flights on JetBlue every day. How are the reserve lines built? 18 days? Can it be split into 3 groups of 6?
What is the commuter policy, two options needed?
Are there many stuck in this situation, does the jump fill up?
Anything else I'm not thinking of yet?

not sure about class drops, a few have LAX, most don’t. For December, there were 2 unfilled LAX320FO base trade requests to JFK32FO. So if you’re a JFK320FO, you could trade into LAX, or at least you could have for December of this year. There’s also an unfilled LAX320CA to JFK320CA request. Amazing times.
If you went 190, you’d be seatlocked for a year, but have really good movement and a line really quickly. You’re probably better off going bus though and trying to base trade to LAX.
New hire training is typically 6-8 weeks depending on breaks, then OE, timing of which varies for getting it assigned.
Commuting between LAX and JFK isn’t that bad. Tons on us, and mint can be had depending on your timing, and that makes the commute significantly more palatable when you get it. AA A321T flagship first is also an option with us and our nonrev agreement now, but isn’t free. Technically only possible if you buy a ZED, but I’ve gotten it when jumpseating as well. Lots of other options on other airlines too.
Reserve is whatever you bid based on your seniority. Minimum of 3 day blocks or you can do all days lumped together, or anything in-between. 13-14 days off for short call, 12-13 off I think for long call. Seat lock starts on day 1 of training, or day 1 of home study for upgrade/transition.
good luck

Employee West lot for most. Reserves used a ton over the summer, which typically tapers off starting now. Prior to COVID it varied significantly on a seasonal basis.
