This caused people who could only hold captain on the last effective date of that bid to get it this time around, when people senior to them, who held it earlier, had their cancelation rights expire, and therefore couldn’t hold it again on this bid. Kind of a crappy move. Something else to fix in CBA 2.0. Hopefully all those guys who held it before, but not this time, and who are senior to these 3XXX guys, get it again on this august bid.
Well that’s not confusing at all….

I didn’t realize 2019 bid went down that low

Looks like a decent chunk of SQ guys had second thoughts and bid out before they even started.

If only we still had quarterly bids, this scenario wouldn’t have happened. I’m sure preventing a few guys from bidding more senior vacation than they’d otherwise hold was worth it though

I feel bad for the guys that got screwed out of their upgrade.

I am hearing the annual bid will be “yuge.” On what basis does one expect a “yuge” annual bid? How many new hires does the company plan on hiring?

They seem to keep saying at JBU 300 this year and 300 in the first 6 months of next year according to various guys I’ve flown with who recently returned from recurrent. I have doubts we will be able to hire that many. But, now that we have some 320 vacancies, newhire training won’t be quite as constrained by 190 sim availability.

Can the schoolhouse even support that capacity?

When has “being able to support that” ever stopped them from pushing ahead with an optimistic - yet unrealistic - plan?
