Agree with you. IMHO It is very likely to see a 2019 hire holding 190 CA. For the 320 CA, a 2017, maybe even 2018 hire.

Upgrades at JFK are probably going very junior for the next system bid. Dropping trading etc can go either way. Weekends are impossible to drop but you can sometimes trade your way out, again seniority helps that. As for working conditions, hands down I have had nothing but excellent experience with the captains here. Super professional group, easy to get along with. Hope that helps.

Ask the senior ExpressJet guys how staying at a regional worked out for them.
At a regional, you will always be at the mercy of mother mainline.
As to the merger rumors, they have been part of the rumor mill since the maiden flight, that should never really enter into the equation.

this can’t be stated enough. You will make more about year 2/3 then a senior captain at a regional.

If you work for a regional, ANY REGIONAL, you do not have a secure job. Your seniority means absolutely nothing, you can be shut down tomorrow. If you have a chance to move on to a place where the name on your check matches the name on the airplane, do it, even if you are just planning on using it as a stepping stone.

As a new hire one anticipates undesirable schedules. However what percentage are "red eye" flights. Are they avoidable? I personally prefer early mornings so a high percentage of red eye flying would be less than desired. Especially living well West of New York, which I assume is the most Junior Domicile.

Could anyone estimate an upgrade time in MCO? Either Aircraft.

If I were you, I would bid the 190 then. Junior 320 schedules have plenty of redeyes, but I don't think there are any on the 190 (except for some Caribbean redeyes for MCO 190 maybe). Upgrade times are going to change in about a week when the annual bid is published, but they're long enough in MCO that they'll change by the time you can hold it. MCO 320 seems to get about a year longer as each year goes by. MCO 190 is maybe 8 or so years (just a guess).
