I was 320 BOS FO til recently, in the bottom 20%. Bid reserve on purpose.Trips are mainly day turns, 2 days mainly to the islands, 3 days with all NE to FL or west coast red eye, a bunch of 4 and 5 days with a smattering of anything. Hard to get better than min credit on those trips at that seniority.

I got better trips on reserve because it was such a lottery. Also local.

Right now 190 BOS/JFK, 320 JFK and maybe other bases, and 220 BOS are all available to new hires. SCR is 2.5 hour call out and LCR is 14 hours. For commuter clause it’s 1 JB flight or 2 OAL required, and there needs to be availability 24 hours ahead for the JB flight. We can’t reserve the jump seat. Once you can hold LCR you should be able to sit reserve from home if it’s one leg, but I don’t know about the ORD commute. You’ll move up seniority fastest on the 190, where we are desperately short FO’s right now.

Does anyone happen to know if JetBlue requires you to pay income tax at a BOS/JFK base even though you live in FL?

Why would an airline do that? JFK has NYPFL that you pay into regardless of home address (peanuts, GREAT benefit)

No…depends on the state and their rules I guess. I live in a no income tax state and I am not charged MA taxes for being based in BOS, but your situation may vary.
