I believe it has happened before but that’s not normal. Usually it’s 1 to 2 years to hold the base.

Thank you kindly.

I have an offer with spirit and JetBlue. Of course JetBlue is a much better airline, but I’m trying not to commute.

I’m in between a rock and a hard place right now.

Everyone in my class that wanted FLL had it by the end of the first year, even those that had to switch from 190 to 320. Even if you got stuck on the 190, there are lots of BOS trips that start or end in FLL, and since it’s not a 190 base there is opportunity to get VDA pay in FLL. First year pay at Spirit is pretty rough from my understanding, especially training pay.

Great place to be to have offers at both. With spirit you’d have faster career progression. You’d be a captain in FLL a lot faster. I would be upgraded if not about to upgrade in FLL. Not even close in Jetblue. I’d still take Jetblue without a doubt if I had to do it again.

Hey all, RE JFK base, how is it getting trips out of LGA? From my understanding it was a co-base? Significantly easier for me to get there so was just curious if there was availability re picking up trips out of LGA.

How long would a new hire expect to be on reserve up in BOS or JFK?

Just depends. And things/pairings are changing. LGA is adding a lot due to the NEA, but likely the bulk of the growth occur once we move into the new terminal. Also, you get $18.50 each way for each LGA trip since JFK is the base, and that’s the cheapest commercial transportation between the two. I did hear it recently went up to $22 or so, not sure, but it’s roughly an extra $40 for a trip starting/ending in LGA (after the expense report processes).

That's great to know, thanks!

Little off subject but does anyone know the training footprint for the 220? i.e. How many weeks?
