3 years ago they said that they’d be retiring the e190 by now. They haven’t retired any yet and only a couple scheduled to leave next year. The needs of the NEA for hourly BOS-LGA flights might delay things more.
On the oth, r hand I think fuel prices might accelerate their demise. So who knows.

It’s 5-7 years currently for BOS A320 like Mainline Flyer said. 5-7 years on the 190 in BOS puts you roughly in the middle of the CA seniority list.

I didn't include the 190 because honestly nobody cares about upgrading on that plane at our pay rates.

With the amount of premium pay available, I’d wager many 190 CAs make more per year than junior 320 CAs. They probably work harder (depending on your definition of “work”), but in my humble opinion, flying five legs per day up and down the east coast was more of a deterrent to upgrading on the 190 than the pay rate.

wrong. They already retired one this month. And they are scheduled to retire at least three more next month.
Straight from JS in CQT. Network planning tried to get them to retire 20 in July alone, but they (flight Ops) told them it wasn’t possible.

you are correct, two of my classmates are CA on the 190 and might actually best my 12 year CA 320 wages this year. Of course they are both crediting over 150 hrs per month I am only averaging 120 per month.

And they just called Sept 190 upgrades to tell them they’re canceling their awards.
But keep believing they aren’t accelerating 190 retirements…

Okay. That’s all news to me. The last quarterly investor report was 6 e190 retirements in 2023 and none this year.

They only canceled 25 upgrades and those upgrades aren’t until December.

They are also apparently telling them there will be a supplemental bid open on Monday

I thought they might add a supplemental due to the extra Gatwick flight starting in Oct. Interested to see if anything else is on there…

They are not going to run a supp bid because of the partial award cancellations. It will be a manual process for those 25 pilots.
