what percentage of pilots can drop their entire schedule then pick up premium instead? Sounds pretty sweet if the entire pilot group can do that. But methinks that isn’t the case.

If you’re flexible enough with your schedule anyone can do it. Just have to be willing to work any day you’re called for an X list. I don’t see why you guys are so against bringing something to the JCBA that you’ve never experienced.

Not sure what your definition of significant is but 10-15 dollars isn’t mine. Don’t get me wrong I’d love you have your pay rates plus some, and we shouldn’t settle for anything less than UAL/DAL 321 rates. I don’t see why we can have the best of both worlds.

The system works well because we have enough reserve staffing to allow Green Day’s. Someone eventually has to cover a dropped trip. I will say X list paying on top of guarantee is great while on reserve, especially if you’re already not getting used much.

Well that can be an improvement for the JCBA, allow RSVs to drop days as well if the grid is green. I like it 👍

I like that too. We have a golden opportunity here to have an amazing contract and shouldn’t settle for anything less.

Anyone is able to drop if the days are green. Our daily open time/drop/swap is all first come first served. If you are in a base, that has a lot of green days, and are flexible to work when they call you for premium; anyone can play that game.

I am a mid seniority FO in ORD and a commuter. If i can do it, anyone can.

I don’t think you guys are picking up what I’m putting down. Anyone can do it, but not everyone can do it. If I have 100 guys in a base/equipment/seat, only a certain number can drop everything before the reserve grid turns red. In other words, while you at your seniority can do it, not everyone in a BES can. It’s limited to a certain percentage before the grid won’t allow it. There are not 3500 spirit pilots dropping their whole schedule and picking up premium instead. So, what percentage drops their whole schedule then picks up premium instead each month? It’s impossible for all pilots to do it, as the grid wouldn’t allow it. I’m guessing most pilots don’t do that. Is that accurate? It sounds great. I’d do it all the time. But if something is so great, everyone at spirit would do it. But do they? Why would anyone fly for straight time if they could fly everything for premium instead?

Dropping SOME days (especially for CAs on reserve) would probably be salable. Allowing “checkerboarding” (dropping every other day so you are basically available only for turns - which used to happen at NK) on reserve is going to be fought tooth and nail by management.
