You're on Reserve for a 5day block. You decide you dont/can't fly but dont want to burn sick time if you aren't going to get called. Mark yourself as "Sick as needed" for the 5 days. You dont get called Day 1-2 but get "called" for a 3day trip day 3-5. You burn 3 days sick time instead of flying that 3day trip, but no sick time is burned for the Days 1-2 where you didn't get called. The "Sick as needed" is non-punitive and doesn't go against a dependability review trigger type of thing.

I wasn't aware anyone still had this in their contract, but it was in AA's for a long time.

Doesn’t Delta have something where they get a ton of PTO every year…use it or lose it? Nothing rolls over, but you’re covered whenever you’re sick. This I can get onboard with

It's not PTO, it is sick time. And it is a tonne, up to 260hr(?) per year I believe, but it is all use it or lose it. But doctors note.... (Not DL &AINAL)

Yeah it’s definitely over and we can all move on and focus on the JCBA. I just have to tell myself that this time these guys are going to take a stand on real PS.

If we don’t get it in the JCBA we never will. DO NOT be fooled by the companies current finances or that the merger willl cost money and on and on. They will absolutely start making money lots of it. Otherwise how do you sell the banks on giving you a loan?

This JCBA will be the most important contract of our careers and we will never have as much leverage. Don’t settle or anything.
