correct. Once you have your schedule, any adds/drops/swaps will change your pay for the month accordingly.

idk about most, but I’m sure some do. I assume most numbers above 100-150 are associated with an injury or major illness.

I think I’d rather have your PTO system than our sick time. (You guys get 6 hours a month added to your bank, correct?) but I think our system is better than UA or AA who get 5 hrs a month but don’t get to use it as PTO, just sick time.

6 hours PTO is a joke. I’d much rather have Delta sick bank. How hard is it to get a doctors note if need be. At least you know you’re covered. As someone with 3 small children in the house, there seems to be a rolling illness. All it takes is one to pick something up.

Thanks for the info. Yes, we get 6hrs of PTO accrual per month regardless of your longevity. Vacation accrual is separate. PTO can be used to maintain your line value when calling in sick or when dropping a trip/RSV day. Otherwise your sick call or trip drop will reduce your pay accordingly. It can be used to pick up extra vacation weeks (the only vacation weeks left are usually the least desirable ones though). PTO can also be sold back at face value when you have accumulated above 100hrs in your bank.

The problem is 6 hours month is sick AND PTO. Not enough.

Especially when it takes Ten Years to gain a third vacation week. Either put it in Vacation or put it in PTO, but we need more somewhere. Or both!

I will say I’m not a fan of the blended sick/PTO system that you all have. Had it at a previous airline, didn’t like it then vs. a separate sick & vacation bank. Wouldn’t want it in a JCBA either….

our pto is terrible. Terrible accrual especially.

Ironically enough our PTO/vacation system was something the company did not want to change. When ALPA negotiated and sold CBA 1.0, the target was market rate and industry standard. Unfortunately industry standard is precisely what we have now.

I always put on surveys I want my 12hrs PTO and sell back at 1.5, could careless about vacation weeks. Would rather just bid around a vacation that I book and pay for. I’m always going regardless so whether or not I can hold a week vacation is irrelevant.

I may be in the minority, but I prefer the PTO bank for everything instead of separate PTO/sick/vacation. As it stands today I’m “forced” to take 3 weeks of vacation, and I can hold Jan-Mar and Sept/Oct type of stuff. I’d rather just take it as PTO to use for drops/sick or save it for down the road when I can hopefully buy better vacations with it. The big problem with our PTO system is the accrual rate, which needs to be much higher than it is today.

Edit: stanherman beat me to it, see previous post.
