Absolutely. For most of your careers failing to agree on a new contract and dragging the old contract out as long as possible (which under the RLA is a helluva long time) is ALWAYS to the advantage of management. On a JCBA, the clock is on your side for once.

Anyone want to bet the pay rates don’t change at all in the joint contract?

Mainly because they cannot afford to start over at another carrier, or can’t. Also, if B6 pilots expect to improve much of anything, like “profit sharing”, the first step is to get rid of the MEC and NC. These gents fall for the company’s “doom
and gloom”, and will agree to anything tossed in front of them. They’ve proven this, time and time
again. Wasn’t the almighty MEC chair supposed to be at National by now? Maybe after he sells you up the river with the merger 🤔

Thanks for stopping by from the Delta forum. Maybe you should take your hat and double breasted blazer off before posting, but care to back that up with anything approaching a logical argument?

Gonna have to agree. Unless and until I see major a education campaign from the union towards the membership as to the actual value of profit sharing, as well as a public commitment to making it a "stone pillar" of a JCBA, I will agree they need to be removed and replaced.

Under our current contract you call out sick on day 3 and your PTO is only dinged one reserve day, 4:12.

Having to pay for the entire 3-day out of PTO would be a big step backward. I can see the benefit if you have a habit of calling out sick every month.
