Limited being the key word, Ichan can never own a controlling stake (no more than 15%) and there are other TWA 2.0 protections written into the Ichan Board member agreement.

Please, move on, how about we focus on running an on-time operation and our new contract to attract quality talent. Yes, the airline history cycle will change again, and if you can stop for a moment and look at the actual financial facts, B6 will be fine in the long run. It might actually have a bright future if the new leadership can actually execute a strategy unencumbered by Government intervention. Hopefully more to follow after the appeal outcome.

B6 pilots get a quality snap-up in August, focus on the next contract and being on-time😀
The board can change any and or all restrictions bestowed upon Icahn. He just needs to rally some board members to agree with whatever plan he has and call a vote. Happens all the time.

But that hasn’t happened yet and may not. If the board doesn’t trust him now, why would they trust him as he tries to get around the restrictions they set in order to avoid such a thing?

And today those "TWA pilots on the bottom of the AA seniority list" have 11,000 new hires below them on the list, plus a healthy smattering of USAir and Cactus guys.

This is my concern. Let's not spike the ball just yet. There are a lot of ways around those restrictions. Period.

With that said, I'm encouraged about the current restrictions, and there are some scenarios where this could force JB to stop the shenanigans and run a quality airline. But most possibilities good and bad are still on the table, although I consider a full TWA 2.0 to be unlikely.

Let's hope for the best, but not spike the ball just yet.

The LAX base is there as a relief base: it is the only base not in the eastern time zone, which gives the company a bit more room to construct pairings and clean things up, since they are the only crews on pacific base local time

this, and this talk is ridiculous. LAX is a strategic IMPERATIVE to the success of the company.

The good news of mergers is there cannot be stapling of major to major anymore. The Federal law prohibits that.

I guess it wasn't a big deal, then.

So thinks may work out, you just have to wait 23 years. A lot of them retired as MD88 FO.
