Big win for the Jr CA's I'd say. No downgrades, still get to collect that check and hardly fly. VILs a plenty and more than enough sr guys who need 100+ hrs a month and will fly anything that goes on the board.

How long is that going to last with the company losing more and more business?

Not complaining, we all knew most of those CA seats were temporary, just saying it's not like nobody's downgrading.

The bid that just opened is not a displacement bid, there are negative numbers but nobody is being forced from their seat. -10 vacancies means if 11 pilots transfer out of that status they will only backfill 1 instead of 11.

No I get that. It was just insinuated at one point by JW that this bid might be built in such a way as to allow as many 190 CA's as possible to keep their seats after the June displacement. Most of the junior CA's will be downgrading, though, as this bid has no CA vacancies... except on a distant island. Oh wait, I guess that means technically they did build it that way!

I do think SJU will go pretty junior though... we'll see.

Ahh yes, I see what you guys mean now. It does sting that those displacements likely wont be getting a seat back on this bid. In defense of JW, it seems this whol aircraft delivery/staffing situation has devolved significantly in the past few months. I wouldnt be surprised if we dont take 20 A220s next year as currently planned.
