I’ll never understand why people make comments like this. It’s a good thing Southwest didn’t say, “We aren’t the big 3 and never will be.” It’s like telling your 4 year old that he isn’t an NFL player and never will be.

I think we do. The only time I have a problem is guys not understanding what JetBlue is. If you live west of the Mississippi this is not a great option. As others had said what is it today. A smallish airline that flys narrow body planes that mainly go north south on the east coast with a current management team that does not really value employees beyond words. As long as you come knowing that I think you will be fine. It’s like going to SWA wondering why you aren’t flying to Europe yet.

It would take an ALK/HA merger and still some major building to equal their route structure but I see no reason what our contracts can’t be right there.

I still enjoy going to work every day and will continue to work to make this place as great as I can. Even if it’s 1 flight at a time.
God I hope so. I agree with bluedriver has said before we should pretty much go straight to a labor dispute, given the crap they are still pulling. The only good thing is we have a baseline and instead of a whole contact we can really narrow it down. I’m sure people will say no everything needs to be fixed but I do think we are coming from a stronger place. My only worry is union leadership I hope they are getting ready NOW but I’m not so sure. And I hate to think that. But I have found their communication as of late pretty darn weak.

I think you misread my post. We deserve the same pay and basic benefits (health, 401k, etc.) but we will never have the same non-rev options. Also, our C-suite management is subpar— but we cannot control that.

Bad analogy. It’s more like going to JetBlue and wondering why we don’t have widebodies.......

FYI. SWA new hires are leaving for the big 3. Because it’s not a legacy style major airline and those people think they can do better at the big 3......

Oh they absolutely are along with ALK Spirit and Frontier, heck I have a friend (I know shocking) that left AA to go to Delta. It’s 1998/99 all over. And it will be until this cycle is over. One day there will be some super jr Delta FO at the bottom of a 10k pilot group going how am I ever going to upgrade? Maybe we will start our retirements at that point, but we probably still won’t have the PS
