You keep changing your answer. What you mean must not be what you type. we will never be a certain airline argument doesn’t work for me. Yes we aren’t there yet but if you don’t fight to be the best we can be what is the point in fighting at all. If we get a widebody order (don’t think it will happen with this management ever) will your viewpoint change?

Its not a discount. We deserve better. Period. But Delta is very different from Jetblue. Simple fact. Its not to say that we aren't worth the same pay and benefits (we are) but we couldn't be more different as airlines.
Honest question: if you think you are better suited for DL/AA/UAL/SWA, why not go there? Seems to be a better plan to go to DL/AA/UAL/SWA than go to Jetblue and hope we become DL/AA/UAL/SWA. No?

This has subject has been beaten to death and yet people keep bringing it up again.
1. I am sure that you are aware of how seniority works and that we can't just move over to another workplace without starting at a bottom.
2. Many of us are trying to leave but between all the CPP's, military, flow through's, and whatever quota airlines are trying to fill, we are not getting the call.

So we're different airlines but you think we should get the same pay rates, PS, work rules, etc. Am I reading you correctly because you post one thing, then when someone challenges you, you answer differently. Just trying to clarify your position.
And I'm really tired when someone gives the "If you don't like it here, leave" answer. If I was 10-15 years younger and wasn't as senior as I am now, I'd have left a long time ago. Some of us are pot committed to this airline so our only avenue is to stay and hope it gets better. Sadly, I'm not expecting it under the current leadership, which only changes from within, or with those who think the way they do.
United merger or bust I guess.

-Our pay, benefits (401k and health insurance) should match DL/AA/UA/SWA. Fingers crossed for contract #2
- We have zero control over our management. I think we will always trail our peers here.
-We don't have such a large network, so our non-reving options won't be as good (since we are smaller)
-I am also hoping for a United merger. However, I am not banking on it. Others should make the decision to come here (or not) based on what Jetblue is today. Same goes with the other big 4. Go where is best now, and ignore the rumors.
I'm sorry about pulling out the "if you don't like it leave card." What is so frustrating is guys who complain and don't actively try and help (by volunteering at the union, etc). Sitting on an anonymous message board complaining is counterproductive. Just seems silly to me. I enjoy my 17-18 days off a month and really don't want to see/hear or think about this place more than that. I treat this job very differently than most. I'm an outlier on my views of this job and that's okay.
You seem like a nice dude. I think we just view things differently. I think we can both agree on 2 things-
1) I hope United buys us
2) beer is good.
Good luck to you and I hope we can grab a beer if we work together.
Cheers.

I think many of you could use mental health day once in a while. Maybe bang out for a few trips? Maybe work a min schedule? Spend time with your wife and kids? Just relax? So much more to life than this. Maybe just quit?
Seriously guys, there is more to life than flying airplanes.
Good luck. (and spend more time with the people that matter to you)

Fair enough on all points. Everyone has their own story and own perspective and ability to contribute to our collective well being. As a military guy with JB my only airline, I would have loved to not bring a union onboard. Sadly, that was never going to be the case. I was a P2P member, base P2P lead, I was on the Merger and Acq committee and served as the Vice Chairman for the Communication committee for much of our negotiation period. I would have LOVED to have run for LEC position but being a commuter with 4 kids between 17-11, that's not in the cards right now.
I was supremely disappointed in the CBA we ended up with and my only hop is that I hope that if fellow JB pilots can't get involved personally, they at least vet and vote in LEC members who will hold the line and ensure we get a CBA2 we can all be proud of. It's the least each of us can and should do.
1st Beer/Whiskey is on me.
