very likely to get a call. The college degree would be helpful, but certainly not required.

the better indicator, frankly, is how many JetBlue folks do you know? Those internal recs mean a lot— and frankly will set your resume apart.

Question for ya and be gentle I know it’s a long shot lol, have you heard of FOs with less than 1000 hours of turbine being taken? I’ve heard of 2 pilots from second hand source but nothing I can confirm myself. Just wondering if I stand a snowballs chance in hell.

1600 hours total
500 turbine/121
College graduate/ aviation degree with good gpa
Ex-military
OBAP member
Internal letter of rec from a senior Captain
And I check the “minority box”

I haven't heard of us taking people under 3k TT (minus zero to hero programs). TT requirements are decreasing by the day, so don't be discouraged. IMHO, the best thing you can do is show that you really want to be here-- LOR's are looked at VERY favorably. Also go to OBAP etc and work the booths hard. Since you are prior military, try your best to get into Vets in Blue.

Good luck to you and keep applying! Jetblue really likes to hire folks who really want to be here!

There was a guy going thru initial a few years ago who had 2600 TT. Straight civ. Mostly a mix of gulfstream and helo time. I’ve known some mil guys with total times in the 2s. And a guy hired a couple years ago I know of had like 1500 piston and a little over 1000 at a regional with nothing special on his resume. I suspect in the next 2 years competitive mins will have to drop even more with all the legacy and cargo hiring.

All that said, I don’t think we will hire many below 2500 TT outside of the gateway select guys and maybe mil. Just a hunch though.
