No Chit!

Give the absolute minimum notice necessary to avoid negative repercussions from the former employer. Talk to your union peeps about how B6 handles resignations, employers can have different philosophical approaches. Ideally you want to be eligible for re-hire, but in some cases they hold a grudge and the bridge is burned regardless. In that case I might give as little as seven days... that's probably enough to be defensible to the new employer. Walking off with zero notice is not defensible and could get you "un-hired".

I was between jobs years ago, turned on the TV one morning and saw airplanes crashing into tall buildings... Fortunately for me, .mil was hiring operators by the end of the week.

What’s the protocol for a hurricane when in training? I’ve only had to deal with earthquakes growing up.

Stick it out with JB until 2 weeks prior to the legacy class date and then leave

Most FOs just head up to ATL about halfway through training. No hurricanes there.

But they’ll usually have you sit tight wherever you’re lodging. Expect a day or two to get cancelled at the last minute if the path goes over MCO, and expect some confusion in the next week if some instructors have to call out EMR to patch their roofs.

Airlines do cancel classes when circumstances change. I can't tell you what to do but I would probably stay in class until the day or two before your legacy class...

Our buildings, historically, don’t do the greatest. I remember when Irma came through which, wasn’t that big passing through MCO, and the big blue metal hanger had half the roof torn off while right across taxiway Juliet, Silver has those “hangars” that are glorified tents didn’t have a scratch

I’ve thought about that but just up and quitting doesn’t seem good. Although if I gave 2 weeks while in training they would just make me leave anyway.

Irma pulled down one of the Silver tents which revealed the west side of the Silver steel-sided hangar… which still had a big red COMAIR sign on it.

Well it’s going full circle now. Now that Silver pulled out they’re back to being empty waiting for the next fly by night operation.
