Hey folks, has anyone run into background check issues? I worked for a few small companies for a short amount of time and it's nearly impossible to verify employment. Hireright already came back asking for verification on one. Employment dates may be off by up to a 2-3 months since I job hopped a lot when I was young and moving around a ton.

Do I have good odds for the 320 at 30 years old with these classes of 25-30?
also, am I foolish for coming into JetBlue with the intent of staying to see long term or at least to see What comes of the merger (acquisition) of spirit? For those that have been here at JetBlue, would you have your apps out at United knowing what you know now?

As to career advice nobody knows, but this is the JB board and we have mostly chosen to stay here longer term for one reason or another. I think the future is bright here, but we’ll be praying for growth vs legacies where you’re praying for retirements.
is there a certain area you’d like to live long term? If you’re a northeast/Florida guy the I’d go for JB. If you’re a Midwest/west coast I’d go UA.

As you gain longevity and seniority here it begins to rapidly slow, then stop. You will always be underpaid here. You will never get profit sharing which has been $50,000 a year at some carriers (not here). You will be paying for every crew meal. Sometimes you will be flying hungry. You will top out as narrobody capt, vs that being a mid career position elsewhere.
Do not get comfy here. There is a reason everyone at the bottom of the list is leaving.

When whichever hurricane came through in 2017 hit, the Lodge turned into a refugee center for all of those in need in south Florida. Those of us in training stuck around and basically had a two-day hurricane party. Poker, remote control helicopters, and as many Jai Alais as Kevin could pour. I even witnessed a dog pee in the entryway to Bubbles on floor 3 while a kid rode on its back. They were incredibly accommodating. Training resumed within a few days, and they had the flooded parking lot cleared within 4. The smoke shack, much like the JB hangar, didn’t fare as well…
