some advice, for JetBlue or any airline really. Know their mission statement/core values, and work that into your answer. That has worked for me almost every job I've ever had

Get some prep before your Delta interview. Like you said, lesson learned.

I highly, highly doubt that answer is why you weren't picked up. My TMAAT answers were horrible, but I made sure to make them think I bought into the "culture" stuff they peddle to keep the pay low. More likely they thought you were a flight risk, (stong resume) or they picked up the scent of someone who wouldn't be willing to fly for for less.

United's schedule flexibility and QOL elements leave a lot to be desired in their current state, which is probably why he's considering making the move to B6 (as he wants to move to BOS).

Schedule flexibility alone has been excellent for me at B6. Fly when I want, drop and swaps trips with relative ease, and I rarely fly more than a leg a day on the Bus to overall nice layovers. Doesn't mean there aren't significant improvements we need in the JCBA, but I believe him when he says the grass isn't always greener.
Second this. I have friends scattered across the big 3. They complain about all the same issues we have here at B6. I've been here coming up on 1.5 years now. Don't drink the blue juice by any means but I don't think the grass is necessarily greener. Everyone's circumstances are different but I would much rather be here if FL or BOS was home vs going to United (with no clue how big MCO/TPA will get) or AA with MIA only. Even friends at Delta on NB are constantly complaining about how the operations are run. Do we have things here that need to be changed in a JCBA? 100% yes we do. I also think that a lot of people complain to just complain. With that mentality I don't think most people would be happy wherever they end up as they will always be looking at the negatives regardless of where they wind up. Not saying B6 is perfect but I personally haven't seen all the doom and gloom people consistently post. Maybe I haven't been here long enough but so far I think I made the right decision (personal choices and end goals in mind) to have a full career here. Time will tell as the years tick on and retirement.

A year and half in a Blue shirt? Part of knowing and evaluating where you are is knowing where you (we've) been and how we got here.

A few questions for you:

Are you aware JB pilots used to get 150% pay for ALL credit above 78 hours? Was taken UNILATERALLY from us, less than 10 years ago. Did you know that?

Are you aware JB pilots, when we worked hard and the company had a good year that we some years we got 20k profit sharing checks? Was taken away UNILATERALLY, less than 10 years ago. Did you know that?

Are you aware that JB pilots used to get an ANNUAL pay review where the company would put the current pay of DL, UAL, AA, SWA, and ALK into a spreadsheet and give us the average? Was taken away UNILATERALLY less than 10 years ago. Did you know that?

Are you aware JB pilots had a normal full-coverage health insurance plan, not a high deductible plans that are offered now? Taken from us UNILATERALLY less than 10 years ago. Did you know that?

Not to mention the pairings were FAR better in the years before you came around in the last 5 mins.

Maybe don't judge how others should feel without having shared their experiences.

.
Well said Bluedriver…. A point I make when I hear people say “Well we aren’t as big as Delta and we don’t have widebodies, we shouldn’t expect to get profit sharing like that”

Maybe don't judge how others should feel without having shared their experiences.

I am well aware of a lot of these things hence why I said B6 is by no means perfect. Kind of hypocritical saying "maybe don't judge how others should feel without having shared their experiences" when others on here judge others when they say they haven't experienced the same level of doom and gloom. I know plenty of people who've been at B6 for long periods of time who've said the same thing as me. Fact of the matter is everyone's experiences are going to be different based on what they are looking to achieve at the end of the day. People are constantly going back and forth with each other on here. You all "judge" others just because there experiences are different than yours. I see it on the farm all the time with individuals who've been around here plenty of time. So it makes me laugh when just because peoples opinions don't align with someone else its automatically thrown into "maybe don't judge how others should feel without having shared their experiences". or the favorite you haven't been here long enough so don't voice an opinion. Stuff on here is like politics in the united states. There's is no middle ground. Its either you are with us 100% or against us 100%. People can think things need to be worked on while also saying its not as doom and gloom as people are constantly making it out to be.

Assumptions get thrown around left and right on here and the farm. Believe me there's a ton of things I want worked on at B6. I'm well aware at how pilots here have been shafted time and time again. You'd probably be surprised to know the profit sharing issue in the TA grinded my gears. I think we should have it. I was all for going into a labor dispute and when it didn't blew my mind we threw the card we had in hand out the window. Had all that leverage just gone to waste. Talked a big game for nothing. I put it in the survey with anything above 75 hours should be 125%. 85-95 pays 150%. Our healthcare blows. Even with these issues I simply stated I just don't fall into the mindset of the grass is greener. Doesn't mean I am not frustrated and want things changed.

WTF is that??
Been here 16 years and it's all true and that's why we went the union route, but to rehash it so someone can understand why us old timers are bitter, is a bit much.

I appreciate the humor of "put that on your Delta/ United app" or "it'll help in your Delta/ United interview", but at some point, and we're almost at that point, people leaving are going to affect MY CAREER and that's what I care about. Yup, it's the Company's job/ task to get people (and keep people) here, but they don't do anything well and nothing will change in that regard.

Had an FO the other day ask me which of the 3 majors I liked the best...no emoji could replicate the look I gave him. I'm not a guidance counselor so people can move on.

Now, where's that free coffee?

”Like” button 👆🏻 great post. I think many of us share this sentiment almost exactly.

"I've been here 5 mins (came after all the unilateral takeaways) and I just can't understand why others aren't as blissfully happy as me."

That's the point, and it's not "a bit much". What is "a bit much" is implying those that have had these things taken over the years should shut up and color, and just be as blissfully ignorant as he is. That doesn't justify in any way making the cockpit a miserable experience. But also don't tell me that yellow liquid that fell on our heads many times over the years was lemonade.
