No way!

The union was going to force jetblue to slow growth. Barger told me this to my face and I believe him.

So an additional 100 to the already planned or just 200 more for the rest of the year?

I can see the growth slowing over the next several years.

However, it takes time to negotiate a CBA and shouldn't effect the immediate hiring that is currently taking place?

The point is that only JetBlue management can decide whether to speed/slow/maintain current growth. The new union has nothing to do with it whatsoever, other than that they will be used as a scapegoat by management upon which to blame anything negative. Some will believe it, hopefully many will not.

I don't think it includes people in training. The whole thing isn't an exact science, so take it for what it's worth. The average class size of 11 could be accurate, especially in busy summer months when everyone is out flying the line and there aren't many instructors around.

You may be right, honestly I have no clue how many we will hire for 2014. The original plan was 400 total (200 for growth + 200 for attrition). Rich sent us that recent email stating the attrition number has been reduced to 100, so that's where I figured we would hire 300 for the year. We have already hired 200, so 100 remaining for the year would make some sense. Your info is more recent, so hopefully that holds up.

Uggh. Always a bridesmaid never a bride. Here's hoping for 28 May for the remainder of the Feb 25 group.

In the long run the CBA will have an affect on the hiring (monthly hour caps), however that is most likely at least 2-3 years away. For now you are correct it is 100% up to management how many we hire.

Any Ideas on how many are cleared BI and waiting on the PHC for ground school?

Monthly hour caps?

Even the ALPA BOD stated they need to get rid of any caps. This is not coming to Jetblue.

Would bad credit E.G. bankruptcy and foreclosure cause you to be weeded out during phase 2 or are they looking for other things like violations ect?
