Still active duty, hence having to pass on earlier date.
Keep the faith gents. The call will come when you least expect it (very true in my case). Good luck to all!

I'm around the 2600ish on the list and the guys from my class in BOS are back on resv and from what they tell me they never fly either.
That being said the Airbus is the total opposite... Resv is about 3 months and you will fly all the time in JFK.
I'm 37 and in my class out of about 25 I couldn't hold the Airbus. The thing that really sucks is you get to see guys junior to you have 16-18 days off on the bus while on the E190 I'm at 12 with no real light at the end of the resv tunnel.
If you commute and get the E190 stand by for major frustration. I'm losing my mind looking at the same walls for months.

Resv in JFK on the E190 is running about 8-12 months... As one of them I can say that the E190 seems to still be way over staffed. If you live in in base resv will be awesome because you never fly... Now if your a commuter it totally sucks... You fly to New York and will do nothing but sit in a crash pad with people asking you why you are always there. In the last 30+ days I've flown 2.1 hours, and they are always days trips for the most part.

Based on how things are going, if it looks like you're gonna get the 190 instead of the Bus, go for BOS if you can. The 190 in JFK is shrinking and has been for most of the year. I got out in January, and I was already seeing the degradation of lines, QoL and seniority then. I can only assume it's gotten worse by now. No new airframes on the horizon (if ever), so you're relying solely on people jumping over to the Bus to move up. We're taking delivery of a bunch of Airbuses every year. A while ago I would have said the guys making the jump to the Bus would be enough to cause mobility on the 190. However, if the number of people moving to the Bus is at the same rate the equipment in domicile is shrinking, it's somewhere between a wash and a negative.

I can't even believe they are adding to JFK. Some days we have 25 people on resv and there are no trips in open time for the entire month.
Way over staffed.
Heard DCA/IAD/BWI is on the horizon as an E190 base so JFK will shrink even more.

Correct, but BOS is only increasing by 13 also. The E190 is not much fun to be on right now.
