Problem is JB doesn't do a whole lot of job fairs. I know they will be at OBAP in July, but I won't be able to attend that one. They still do some college/university job fairs and I was set to go to one this spring, but unfortunately the non-revs gods didn't want me to go.

For what its worth I applied for over three years before getting the interview. I had a few buddies over there pulling all the strings they could that whole time.
I finally went to the Vets in Blue event in November and spoke with some of their recruiting folks. Basically what I was told is that once you apply and meet some sort of parameters your name goes to a third party who actually pulls names for interviews, a la US Airways. So basically its a lottery system. There may be some things that get your name pulled earlier, such as job fairs. I did get an interview and hired very shortly after the window opened post job fair.
I think lawyers have gotten in the way of the who you know factor in a lot of ways. Not sure if that's good or bad.

I applied with 3800TT, 2200PIC, military, 4 year degree, and an internal rec. not a peep until I went to a JB job fair. Most guys will say the job fairs aren't worth it, but I 100% disagree. No way I would've been called without attending, there's just too many good applicants out there for such few jobs, you need a way to stand out from the pack. Attending one of the job fairs is the best (and sometimes the only) way to do it.
Best of luck!!
