Am trying to pick a medical plan either JB or my wife's. With her plan all doctor's visits are a copay and not subject to deductible - with JB plan it seems every doctor visit is subject to deductible then 20/80 coverage (unless preventative). But the seed money is enticing...we have kids so there will be visits to doctors... Any pros to the JB plan?

You get 800 automatically (for family, 400 for single people). Plus another 800 for Healthy Rewards. There is way more than $800 worth of healthy rewards to choose from. Most are quick and painless.

Anything major costs you big- Birth/illness. An ER visit is 300.00 immediately.
I would say it's cheap to have, but expensive to use so it's basically a major medical plan. (Disaster insurance)
Please correct me if Im wrong here guys. My wife handles this stuff.

Going with the wife's medical (99%decided)
Thanks for all the input...will hope for a better JB coverage in the near future, but for now it seems to be better on my wife's - all kinds of doc visits are copay only and the other stuff is 20/80. With kids we are at the docs a lot!

Just to add fuel to the fire here. We are on the Blue Plan. My wife has insurance available through her company but it is much higher cost and structured almost identically to the Blue Plan at JB. We are one of those families with a serious health issue, and we do plan to pay out the full amount each and every year.
I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and say the insurance is terrible as that's a matter of opinion and experience. And I am also thankful to at least have the ability to pay for it. But to say there are not greener pastures and that it is not a burden would be untrue. You definitely have to consider that when considering coming here.
Otherwise it is a great place and I am really happy here.
