Sounds like something you can put in the "volunteering" section on the Delta app.

As a FA who uses jetBlue to commute as a non-rev, and is very appreciative for the ride, I always help tidy up the cabin after a flight. I've yet to be on a flight where I was the ONLY non-rev so there are always a lot of helping hands. That said, I cringe when I see pilots putting on the blue gloves and pitching in. There is no reason for them to do it and as others have said, they have better things to do, even if it's just running to the concourse to grab food/drinks for the crew.

Love me some jetBlue, BUT think their pilots shouldn't be asked to help out with this task, EVER.

If you want the respect of your FAs or the other pilot, you do it by being safe, professional, having a friendly demeanor with basic manners and not embarrassing the rest of your crew by your appearance or personality! Oh, and ALWAYS back them up.....

Section 1 of the FOM has some pretty good info about turn time guidelines, and the respective duties of each pilot. If I respectfully explained my opinion on cleaning to you, asked you to defer when our customers and union have done the same, then pointed out more important priorities in our duties, you'd go back to cleaning to prove a point? I'd win that battle, but it's sad it even needs to be fought.
You'd win what battle tough guy? You'd be/are that dick on everybody's no bid list as well. What a Captain! Give a guy a little authority and the abuses begin, Oh the predictable nature of men.

I hate to tell you, Aewannabe is correct. The FOM and our union has given guidance. I'm my airplane I don't care if you clean or not, but if you start cleaning or don the blue gloves before all the pax are off, we are going to have a conversation and if you think me or AE is a douche try working at a legacy, you will see ascertion of captains authority; you'll think we are sweet hearts.

All the replies on this thread including me walking my anger back, and that's your takeaway? Fine. Avoid me, newbie. Gear up, your walkaround. Enjoy your dumpster diving.

By the way, reading comprehension champ, I see you didn't respond to any of my thoughts on the other thread about humanity to customers, inflight, etc. Nice cherry-picking.
