If there is any truth to this, they should utilize a TDY to get he base up and running. I'd imagine theres enough FL guys down there

Without more info, no. My best guess is that the one you're trying to trade will put you inside the buffer that they'll allow for fear of you infringing upon 30 hours rest in 168 hours, either preceding it or after it.

we've got mint flights returning due to expired food... and we're going to pull off 8+ hour SA and Euro flights... I hope we do, but manw e really need to get the logistics down before we booger it up good.

So if the company does eliminate JFK E190 as a base , how would the displacement play out ? Do they just force the most junior guys in JFK to be FLL based or would there be some sort of bid ?

Sorry if it sounds like a noob question, previous gig had a contract with clear language on such issue, still getting used to not having a contract to reference .

JFK E190 isn't going anywhere. There's a lot of flying done there plus MX capability.
