I'm moving to Chicago and trying to make an informed decision to stay or go. United and American have over 70 gates each there but don't have the amazing schedule flexibility. Basically the grass is not greener over at either airline...but there is just a lot more grass. If JetBlue keeps the 6.5 gates it would be frustrating to switch airlines for no reason.
IF they keep the gates, it doesn’t mean they’ll keep a pilot base in ORD. If you’re going to live in Chicago, UAL or AA is the way to go unfortunately. Too many unknowns that come along with a merger of two airlines with such a small presence in ORD.

Hello everybody,

Hope all of you are well; new to this and probably on the wrong thread but I cannot add a new one as of right now. I was curious if anybody had info regarding the A-220 at JFK. What routes are they using the 220 from JFK, and/or what can be expected? Would BOS would have been a better option if I had to choose between JFK and BOS?

Thanks everyone!

JFK 220 doesn’t start until March, so we don’t know what the pairings are going to look like. For next year it’s only half the size of Boston 220. Don’t know if it’s going to grow. JFK 190 was always half the size or less than Bos 190. Pick the easier commute.

Did a search on our retirement site but couldn't find the answer. Anyone know if we can control where the 16% DC from the company goes?

Within Empower you can designate where you want future contributions to go. Among whatever funds are offered there.

For a much broader range of investment choices, you can set up a self-directed brokerage account with Charles Schwab and set all or part of the future contributions to go to the cash sweep account in Schwab where you can then buy whatever stocks/funds you want (excluding JBLU).

once you max out your DC into 401k and/or VEBA your 16% goes on your paycheck.

You can send that money to an account there and do with it as you wish?

Sorry, should have been more specific. Does it get applied to traditional or roth by default? I know I can self select my own contributions and set a percentage to go to one or the other, but does the company DC have a default where it deposits the contributions, or does it use the setting of your own contributions. It's been a while since I've made changes to my account and want to rebalance some stuff.
