JetBlue can’t realistically take over those routes. Point to point flying is very difficult for us operationally. We can get away with a few instances but no way to do the stuff Breeze does without having small crew bases scattered along the east coast.
Jetblue has strong brand recognition in NE and Florida in particular. How many JB card holders are becoming Breeze frequent fliers because they live closer to these secondary cities and aren’t traveling to a hub city like BOS/JFK/FLL/MCO?

In short, if you can’t dominate a market you have little control of brand loyalty or repeat business. The assumption of anything else is a jetblue fairy tale.

I fly UAL and AA quite a lot. UAL is always a 737 and AA is always a 321. The 737 is cramped, limited entertainment. The 321 is also cramped, no inflight entertainment. Both flights are always full and discussions will fellow passengers always yield similar results. The benefits eco system and the networks bring them back. We aren’t talking apples to apples anymore when comparing airlines. If you have the choose between the big three then perhaps you analyze that ecosystem component. If you are flying an LCC you purchase the cheapest flight that provides you the easiest path to your destination. JetBlues ability to command brand loyalty is limited based on the above assumptions and I think that is why JG constantly notes minimal price increases affect revenue.

to correct the statement above. AA has free entertainment via WiFi on all flights. It isn’t on a seat back screen is all. A weakness for sure but they do have entertainment. Internet is finally free but you must have an AAdvantage account.

No, it isn’t a new airplane. At all. It’s been in service and flying for a full decade. We’ve had them for, what, 4 years now?
The thing is *always* broken for basically no reason. Even management openly acknowledges the reliability is “not where we want it to be.”
When you run short, E190-style regional hops with the A220, you wind up with compounding delays, leg after leg, and it isn’t making Jetblue any less Jetblue.

The Airbus narrow body is way more comfortable than the Boeing. It’s wider. I have been getting on Delta 737s lately and they all have small overhead bins. AA has a couple planes with the smaller bins but not many. The problem is at AA they stop letting people board with carry ons way too early. Nothing would **** me off more than having my bag taken and then boarding and seeing empty bins all over the place.

The obsession with in-seat IFE as if not having it is some atrocity—without considering its multiple downsides—is basically a testament to the fact that most of our society now has the attention span of a goldfish, and can barely make it 15 minutes without constant tapping/swiping/empty dopamine hits without having a minor panic attack. It’s really sad.
I think it's just a retail bump, riding the broader market wave and low oil. I'm sure it will be sub $4 again when Q4 earnings come out.
