Who really wants LGA slots? DL? NYC airports are dominated by the 3 legacies and not a lot of other carriers trying to break into the market.

If you are a carrier vying for customers you have to offer choice. Jetblue chose to operate out of the NE and now complains about the cost has reduced choices. Touting a varied network yet limiting choice in travel has not served Jetblue well. Delta recognizes this and therefore leads the industry. United admitted its mistakes in leaving JFK and is trying to rectify that, providing choice. Jetblue wants to operate like a legacy in legacy strongholds without the choice. It just isn't working.
Neeleman mantra of “bringing humanity back to air travel” was solely focused on the average customer and Jetblue never intended to serve the first class customer. At play is a dichotomy between core and first with the mantra intended customer and the potentially revenue rich one.

Oil will begin to flow shortly. The assets the US has deployed to the region will ensure safe passage again. The US government is acutely aware of the potential issues of rising oil on a stable US economy and, selfishly, the presidents party and elections. This is a temporary increase. The issues with the jetblue model are not so temporary.

This is probably written by a nobody but interesting read nonetheless:

Now we’re throwing Reddit in to add to the drama here? 😂 The spike in oil will most likely be temporary, though JB is in a position where even a few months of high gas prices will hurt. I heard on the radio that Kirby was already talking about raising ticket prices because of this. Something that’s long overdue. What will ultimately save JB is the premium cc revenue. It’s looks like it’s trending in the right direction, but that remains to be seen.

This is a story using two different things. Yes LGA is expensive but that’s not why we cut all the flights. We cut the flights because the government decided we couldn’t have the NEA. They are making it seem like we sliced everything because we suck and it’s expensive but that’s standard from Geff.

As for the rest with oil or route networks or whatever the problem is scale. The government allowed the big guys to become so big that the rest of us have almost no chance. We tried to get some scale but ironically the government said no because reasons. If you were to go back in time when we had the big 6 I think you would see a totally different reaction to things. Now the big 3 can dump capacity wherever they want or drop fares in places that are competitive because they have super hubs that print money ( good chance most people flying out of ATL have a delta credit card)

He's right. Watching the panicans on the Left is pure entertainment. It's like they've never read a history book, or even looked back just a few years to see how oil reacted to Russian invading Ukraine. I swear if the general flying pubic could see the pilot message boards they'd take the train much more often.

Panicans? Are you willing to pay higher gas prices and possibly speed up Jetblue’s BK so we can go to war on behalf of another country in the Middle East? Even if oil fades from here it will not have an insignificant effect on this quarters earnings.
