This post comes up every once and a while and I'm always curious. Other than the fact you may live in a UA hub, why do you think Unitied buying JB would be a good thing as a JB pilot?

I hear ya 16. Im not senior enough to lose much and prob not junior enough to get furloughed in the event of a purchase. I do live much closer to 2 UAL bases and their contract will always dominate anything we get.
I do not get the feeling that B6 feels we deserve, or that it can afford, an industry-standard contract. I know we have butted heads before about this 16, but Ive been through contract negotiations, and its deja vu.
I mean it when I say "I hope im wrong" and that you and the" believers" are right, because then we all win. In the meantime, Im hoping for a sale of jetblue to UAL. Not perfect, but it would mean a nice contract, albeit after a few tumultuous transition years. Who knows.

I hear ya. I understand the consternation with our contract. It's painful to see everyone get market-rate contracts as we trudge along at the levels we're at. We're all only in this gig for a finite amount of time, and every day that goes by, is another one wasted with the sub par PEA.....sounds like the FO window keeps getting fewer and less qualified candidates......management is going to have to decide, are we a career airline stepping stone, or a destination airline.....whether we get bought/merge down the road will be determined by how they answer that question....

Agree with all of that. Im 45 and around 2350 seniority. So Im getting weekends/holidays off and easily makin 140K. Ive spoken to guys senior to me that have either interviewed or have interviews later this month. I just got my resume, logbooks tightened up and Im calling in favors. If guys like me, who are comfortable and middle-aged , are thinkin about a move, JB is in denial about its appeal. I really believe they will gamble and expect that most will cave before the airline is fatally damaged. I had accepted that this would be my last airline, but after their recent shenanigans, Im finishing up my last few credits for my bachelors and planning on a move in 6-18 months. I hope we have a T/A by then (for comparison), but if a legacy offer is on the table, I am gone.

In your situation, I can't blame you. You'll have 2 decades at a legacy....hard to turn down. We'll see how quickly our TA arrives and what's in it....hopefully for you and others in your boat, it comes before you have to make a decision so you can compare...

I'm in the mid 600s, and 49.....I'm anchored here for the long haul....for better or worse.....

Think harder.

Living in base, it turns into a different job.

Good luck thinking it over.

I think it's always been there but just covered up. How many times did you here FAs talk about bus guys? It was only different for us 190 guys since we were stuck with them for 4 days so you couldn't just leave them. As always it depends on the person. But yes now that the company put a focus on it there does seem to be more issues.

Well.....don't leave without your new OVERCOAT.

Leather jackets are outlawed this fall and being replaced

"FOR FREE....AT NO COST TO YOU..........by simply deducting $100 out of your uniform allowance"

You can't make this $hit up!!
