Got it. Since furloughs are involved, policy manual doesn't matter.

Is this a bad joke? Bro, half your flying is outsourced. Where the hell are you getting ‘we gave up scope’ from? And the 5 hours comes with 2 more days off with snap backs in place. Again, to sit home and do nothing. I haven’t flown since the beginning of May. Our union hit this one out of the park. They literally could not have done a better job.

1 day of reserve equals 4.12 hours of pay. This is essentially 2 days off with a gain of 3.24 hours for it. While I’d rather have my 5 hours back vs 2 days off, if it’s part of the puzzle that keeps pilots gainfully employed I’ll gladly take the 7 month hit.

Yes, we are! JetBlue pilots get furlough protection until March of ‘21 and 2500 AA pilots just got WARN notices because of this deal. Undercutting other pilots!

Your train wreck of an operation isn't our fault. We're going to feed more passengers to your widebodies than you could have done yourselves, thereby preserving some of *your* jobs that would otherwise be lost. And it doesn't cost you a thin dime. You're welcome!

It doesn't cost a dime...just a few hundred pilot jobs.

2500 AA pilots were going to get WARN notices anyway (have you heard of this new coronavirus pandemic? It might be bad for air travel). Perhaps a few more would have gotten notices without this deal which supports your additional widebody lift out of JFK. If you didn't want a deal like this, why does your contract allow it? Your pilot group presumably negotiated for something else in exchange for allowing management to make a deal like this.

Who was it that said never let a bad event go to waste. Sounds like a good time to buy an airline; especially one where you've been dumping routes that overlap them for years....

Understandably there are people in the industry who are upset/frustrated. Then they look over and see JB not experiencing the same thing and lash out. Sorry but 5 hours for RSV pilots at JB ain't exactly earth shattering considering the alternative...That wasn't the linchpin that got 2500 AA pilots WARN letters.
