I know his response already, feeble silence.

Quick--see if you can name the major airline that started the "no A plan/B plan" model, stock options for compensation, and productivity bonuses? Another hint: Although not technically PFT, most people have to pay 5-10 grand before they ever get to start working there. Finally--they have their own in-house union, and are not ALPA members.
I'll bet if you can guess that company--you can also realize the "erosion" of the perfect airline job (Pan Am 1978, Delta 1988, etc) started a long time ago, and the catalyst for change was NOT Jetblue and their less than 200 planes...

Excellent points...
I don't get..............
Trying to start an effective in house UNION will be significantly more expensive than if you folks certified ALPA.
If you Bring ALPA on, you will immediately have immense resources at you disposal that you will not have with an in house.
With ALPA you will have from day 1:
1 A legal staff second to none in the aviation field.
2. An aeromedical staff second to none.
3. A professional Communications and PR staff
4. An Aviation Safety/Accident Investigation dept second to none
5. Experts in Retirement/Insurance, Scheduling, Safety, Railway Labor act 2nd to none
6. And the "Only" Professional Pilot Lobby in Wash DC
Having been there and done that with an independent, I have witnessed the true cost.
Trying to hire or outsource the above work is very expensive and will take enormous amounts of capital $$ upfront. It took us many years to figure that out and wasted a lot of time and money, before we figured out that ALPA was really the answer. ALPA has it's faults but so does any organization.
You folks will elect your own Pilots to be Union Leaders. The key is to elect Good people. You will no doubt elect the same Pilots whether ALPA is on property or some other entity. You folks will elect them.
You folks will tell them what you want. Good folks will do a good job.........and Bads folks will do a bad job. Give your elected leaders the best tools to get you guys a contract. ALPA is your best shot, im my opinion

Your ignorance is appalling. If you remember, the PCG fiasco took 7 months for them to tell us NOTHING. How much union experience do you have? Or are you just going on what your military buddies tell you (based on what other people have told them, etc...) Speaking of other problems, how about JB's ability to withstand IROP's? I've been here way over 6 months, and they've bungled every single one of them...
I will say that I just love your "if you don't like it quit" statement. You guys are all the same, and you sound like a broken record. Let me guess, you also threaten your fellow 8 year old friends with the whole "I'm taking my ball and going home" business. And I seriously doubt your Dad can beat up my Dad...

ALPA is worthless. Anyone who believes that all you have to do is vote in a Union and all problems will be solved are kidding themselves.
Here at JetBlue we can fix any problem in 6 month that would take a Union 6 years to negotiate.
Anybody who hired on with JetBlue knew we don't have a Union. If you don't like it the way it is then quit, you whiners.

Yeah, it's the other 30 years where their pay is 400% to 500% more than us...
Funny, I am making more money here in my first year than at the mighty unionized AMR Corp. It is everybody's choice to go to the E190, so stop whining. And yes we did negotiate a raise for them. A few meetings with Dave and it was done. None of that "contract is not up for another 6 years BS'.
