It's 12 or 13 days off. And just because one bids reserve doesn't imply that one picks up VDA's or RSA's

That is INCORRECT. Read your FSM, aggressive pick-up .

Full disclosure: I have never used that. Oh, but others do and they seem to be on the "local" call list.

If I have a stretch of 6 days off and pick up a 10 hr 2-day, those 10 hrs are above guarantee? I don't have access to the FSM now. I was told otherwise, by more than 1 CA.

Don't pick up opentime! It helps the company and delays a contract...

Yes and no, "aggressive bid" pickup is only done through Pilot RSV Open Time Bid East (West) Coast window. Not the regular opentime pot like a lineholder uses. These aggressive bid requests are processed by CS when doing next day assignments and are very very rarely approved. They are only approved if there is no other reserve available to cover the trip.

I've only heard of one or two people ever getting a request approved.

The original intent was for reserves to be able to pick up any trip on a day off just like lineholder do, but that never happened and we got this turd of a system instead.

Some newbies go into the regular opentime pot and pick up trips on their days off thinking they will get extra pay for this, but NO you do NOT get paid any extra for picking up trips this way. Don't work for free!

Flying > 70hrs is helping the company. I hope the guys making a stink about VDAs or RSAs aren't flying 90hrs.

LUV flies the crap out of their reserves. Nobody in DAL is sitting at home on reserve unfortunately.

We have the thinnest "contract" in the 121 world and you haven't gotten around to reading it? C'mon man.

You got your answer anyway.
