I mention this because everyone has their reasons for believing what they believe, however, even at a desirable place like Delta, we have our Debbie Downers, too.

And to the poster stating we are hiring 1000 this year, everything that's been made public from flight ops suggests only 700. That said, it's a fluid number but this year brings displacements from the closing of the 747 category, the new A350, and late this year the first wave of CS100 training events. 700 may be more plausible as the demand on on training department will be intense due to all of these issues.
I have a feeling back in the Pan Am days some guy was saying why don't you go to TWA the movie star airline. HH is way better to work for than Juan.
It always was and always will be.

Almost bought stock in this little California startup called...Apple. Glad I passed on that. They're going nowhere.

I'm saying nothing has changed in pilot history, there is always someone telling you where you should go.

Flew with an awesome older captain back in my regional days (over a decade ago) who told me he had a chance to fly for a little cargo outfit out of Memphis flying Falcon 50's (Fedex) and also had the chance to fly for a startup 737 operator out of Love Field (Southwest). He didn't take either of those jobs though.

Anyone who would publicly say " why pay profit sharing when my employees have little to do with making a profit", whether they believe that to be true or not, is not a leader.

Not to mention somebody who would ask for pay cuts from some of his lowest paid employees in times of record profits while threatening their job security is a parasite on this earth.
