Youre right- They should apply-- They should also realize that its more than 5 guys.
And would you agree that those applying here should gather opinions from as many B6 pilots as possible to get a more balanced outlook?
For guys looking to escape the regionals and tread water, its a great place to work, but for those looking for a destination airline, better options exist.
Pay, benefits/retirement, and work/reserve rules dont lie.

They should talk to as many people as possible. I still firmly believe that once we get a CBA this will be a very good place to be. It isn't bad now, and will be great once the CBA is here. We will find out in 20 years what the right move was.

Add another 650 for WN. And their new simulator building doubling their simulator capacity (from 11 to 18 with capacity to stretch to 22) opens later this year... Not advocating that anyone go there unless they live in a SW domicile (other than Atlanta) but just to add to the tally.
Supposedly each of the majors has around 6000 qualified applicants. You have to assume that most of those 6000 have applied to all of the majors and big freighters. So if you divvy them up among those 6 carriers plus Spirit, Alaska, Hawaiian, and a few others -- not to mention corporate operators who are finally starting to open the pocket book to retain their talent... the next few years are gonna be interesting.

There are more than 5 out of 3500 that are frustrated. People are free to go where they want to. Just hope they make an informed decision. JB is still be than most regionals or fly by night cargo ops.

Im at B6 3.5 years and would take an AA/UA class tomorrow. Even though Im comfortable with holidays/weekends off, movement is ALL based on growth and is painfully slow.
We had 3 net upgrades last system bid and the 190 future is unclear at best.
Its not that Im unhappy, the options are just better elsewhere. Pm me if you want to discuss further. Good luck

If you have a guaranteed flow, Id stick- the retirements alone at AA are worth it.

AA will retire 74% of their seniority list in the next 15 years. JB will retire 28% of their list in the next 15 years.
Do what you want, but know what you are getting into.
