Spirit and Frontier are negotiating in the same environment as us with even lower pay rates. They are NOT making good progress... Hope you are right, but JB has been proving you wrong for years.
I'll ask you your question in reverse. Why isn't JB management negotiating more like Spirit and Frontier? By all accounts, we are making significantly more progress with much more to accomplish than they do.

And to answer Bozo's question......I have always believed we don't work for an airline...we work for a PR firm that flies aircraft. They're much more worried about their status and what people think of them......our management will be CRUSHED when we don't win the JD Powers award this year....and I'm pretty sure we won't......

So imagine their horror when a bunch of pilots are walking around in circles in front of major airports on BOS, NY, FLL, MCO, LA and plastered on papers and television sets across these areas........I'm not sure our leaders are excited about that prospect...

They know what our contract is going to cost.......they have the $ to pay it......we're getting closer.......this summer/fall will be telling.....fleet review.....321LR decision......contract impasse or TA.......

For those who are looking for our NC to bring back a TA that is substandard/below market rate.....I'm convinced it will not happen.....

BL is, even if we just copied/pasted DL's contract and replaced Delta with jetBlue, there would still be reasons for they bottom of our seniority list to jump to legacy carriers....more stability, more fleet/location options, faster upgrades.......so if you're looking for reasons to leave, they'll always be there.....my hope is that with the new contract, fleet replacement and additions that there will be more reasons to stay.....

I HAVE to ask, what are you so happy about Joe and Say?

#keepsgettingbetter
I didn't say I was happy, just that I don't experience the amount of negativity, that is on this site. Most guys know the problems and feel that they will be fixed with a CBA. As for your little hashtag you can shove it dude because I have never said that. I don't use work for my happiness and I'm not here to play the game of what makes me happy. Right now there is nothing I can do other than wearing my lanyard and following SOP which I do so I am not going to spend my day a work being ****ed. That's only going to hurt you, it's sure as heck won't hurt Robin Hayes. Now if we were still non union I would be far more pessimistic but I really think we are making progress and will be happy with our CBA.

And before you get mad at me again please notice that I did not disagree about the things you posted.

Totally agree.
I also think we might not win the JD power award and I think that is a good thing. It's time for the ELT to stop playing airline.

Progress until very recently has been on the low hanging fruit of the contract. We have only recently been negotiating the big ticket items, and progress can slow/stop at any time. But progress doesn't change the roughly $3,000 per month, every month that I am losing due to our terrible contract. It's all or nothing right now. Until it's DONE we see no benefit at all, in fact they keep taking things away from us in the meantime! We are still losing (profit sharing).

Until the TA is done, I will not be lulled into warm fuzzy place. That progress can stop at any time and we continue to lose every month until it is DONE.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad things appear to be progressing better than Spirit and Frontier, but that's a pretty low bar and offers NO guarantee this won't last another year or two and I still argue that it is completely illogical to defend JB until we are NO LONGER compensated 30-40% below our peers.

I also try not to let this affect my personal well being. But, I still say it is illogical to defend JB before we have a CBA. So the guys I fly with are mostly NOT happy with JB right now for the reasons I mentioned. I fly with senior Airbus captains. You fly with junior E90 FOs. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see that we fly with completely different people.

Since you don't like the negativity from many of us about JB, I believe you need to tell us all what you are so happy with at JB?

When did I say it's really not that bad? Quote me
It's not all jr 190 FOs many of my FOs have been senior to me.
But I guess only the Airbus captains get to have valid opinions and how great is it that it is just like yours.(yes I know you will tell me they are senior and have lived through the JetBlue lies so they know)
Now it only took 3 votes to get in a union.

Dude when you applied and took a job here.
We were non union, we were paid less vs our peers, our vacation was bad, we had our current pto system, we had no retirements, we had the same bases, we had meltdowns, our company was obsessed about image and nps, our per diem hasn't changed, we were looked at by the real airlines as a second tier airline, a good chunk of our super senior captains couldn't get hired elsewhere, our retirement was bad, work rules changed via email and so on. A big chunk of the stuff that makes you so mad now was reality when YOU accepted a job here. I also accepted the job because as I have said it was a good place to wait (better than the regionals)and I still say that. You and I got lucky and moved up the list quick to have either a nice senior airbus FO sked or a very junior captain. So for me things have worked out but you better believe I voted yes. I know things need to change. I was answering a question about how negative things are. I don't see it as much as you do but that is me. I still think JetBlue has the potential to be a great airline and we very well may have a great contract. If you don't think that, well there is no reason for you to stay. (For the record I also thought trump would win so maybe I am a little crazy)
I have been a 121 guy for over 13 years now and what I know is everything changes so fast. Up today down tomorrow. like bunker asked if management is so against getting a cba why are they not pulling a Spirit or Frontier? There is nothing stopping them. I also agree with him that we will know much more in the coming months but as far as a first contract goes like it or not history shows that we are making progress and the company is negotiating. Unless you were in the camp that thought we would just have an instant contract I would say our progress is a good thing. Now you can argue it's low hanging fruit but did you want them to start with the big things first? That is not how this works and if they wanted to they could drag out the low hanging fruit part. The union has said don't expect many more TAs because these last sections all go together but we are making progress. From a few guys I have talked with who "know" they have become much more optimistic about getting a TA soon.
I don't answer to you about what makes me happy and as far as your cute little millennial hashtags go.

I usually stay out of this thread because of the amount of negativity present, but I just have to post this out of curiosity:

If we get a market rate contract, will the tunes change? Will stand-up PAs come back? Will we go the extra mile again? Or will this company always be a place that some love to hate?

As far as contract concerns, I implore everyone to go find a P2P volunteer (bright red badge backers) and get a real update on progress. This is all our careers, and it's important to stay up to date with facts not rumors.

Usually money does change a lot of attitude.

Reading this thread, many feel that they are not only being asked to be professional A320 pilots, but actually do more, yet JB mgmt is not coming to the table with even an industry standard contract to date.

That makes many feel their being taken advantage of.
