Hireable at Kalitta with a SODA Medical?
To the current Kalitta pilots on the forum...
I currently hold a First Class medical, but I am concerned that years down the road I could potentially have to rely on getting a SODA medical waiver to continue working.
Do any of you know of pilots working at Kalitta (or other 121 airlines for that matter) that have a SODA waiver? Should I start thinking about a career change, or is it safe to assume that even with a SODA medical I’ll still be able to work at a 121 airline?
Thanks for your insights and help.

Now is your SODA temporary or will your medical issues get worse in the future and prevent you from holding a first class? How much longer can you hold a first class? Those are discussions to have with your AME.

I'm saying it's a program that works. I'm not recommending you show up with nothing done, just that the program works well.
I forgot about the CBT's. You need to finish the CBT's if they assign them to you ahead of time, that will give you much more time during the actual CBT week to study from the KV. The CBT's take a very long time to finish.

If you were previously at an airline that had an AQP training program...Kalitta has an “AQP-ishhhhh training program”
Be nice if they would stick to the FAA AQP training program (you know...without the Kalittaisms of the current program)

Something that is rarely mentioned on here:

It’s too bad the K4 Facebook page is edited, screened, filtered, and then washed all the darn time! It’s just funnier then hell to read some of that shjt. Maybe someone needs to just create a Kalitta Pilots 2.0 page and make sure the moderators allow for prison rules.
